I liked this chapter and one of the main reasons is that it seems Kubo is patching some serious holes with it like Zaraki's defeat by a non bankai Ichigo.
Also nice seeing some Unohana and Kenpachi backstory. It seems she once was a battle-thirsty individual like Kenpachi was but after thousand of years she started getting tired of battles and life itself. She wanted to leave her role as a "Kenpachi" but couldn't find a proper replacement until she discovered Zaraki.

I don't buy the stuff with the previous Zaraki's fights. It ruins the shit Ichigo had to overcome. During their duel Zangetsu talked how Zaraki's sword is just a tool and how this is their key to the victory, but now Kubo says that all that wouldn't matter had Ken-chan been at his REAL power level. Also, with Noitora he used his kendo skills(which from what I heard don't work that way, but I digress), not some power up, he could use it from the very start. He later on killed the strongest one(with tagteam with Byakuya) without breaking a sweat and said it was "boring" when he supposed to unconsciously restrain himself.
So while i believe that twist with Unohana was carefully planned I find the mention of the previous fights just made up right now.
EDIT: Also, is she really killing him or is that poor translation? So she has power of resurrecting as well?
So what? Ichiko still grew, i don't see how it cancels anything. It doesn't matter if Ichigo won or not, what matters is that threw fighting experience with such strong people he reached a new awareness between himself and his Zanbaktou and got better. Whether the opponent was someone that could be defeated or an unbelievable monster that needed even more than that is pointless.
BTW you really fail at getting the mood if you haven't realized in what context the "boring" was said after the fight with the 0 Espada.
