We still do not know what Mayuri found in the Szayel's lab that was so interesting that he spends all his time in HM now. All we know is that it is significant thing that will affect either this or the next arc after this.
We still do not know what is up with Mizuiro, who was the woman he talked to in the first few chapters, to whom is he talking on a cellphone, what was the thing who was flying in the sky few moments after one of his cellphone scenes or his backstory.
We learned on who are the shadowy hollow figures who rescued grand fisher only after 100-200 chapters.
We still do not know why Ukitake gave Ichigo the badge and what exactly the badge means and why only ukitake knew what it is and to whom Ukitake thought Ichigo's reiatsu was similar to.
Mystery shinigami will either;
- Be revealed this arc.
- be left for latter with Isshin and Urahara throwing hints at who he/she/it is.
I am betting that both: Shinigami identity, what was the badge-dialogue about and what are fb intentions would reveal too much of plot right now.
So we are getting pieces of the puzzle and once those things are revealed, everything will fall into place.
