As for this chapter, I kind of liked it except for the asspull. Can't figure out if Irene is plain sadist or just salty over losing Erza. (?) Imo, Larcade's design is well done.

Brandish is an ASSPULL. First of all, she should be dead as a traitor for saving TWO competent mages in ishgar side.
Secondly, WTF? How can you repair the damaged organ? The heart is destroyed, that's it. You have 80% of your heart missing, what can you do? Make what smaller? Total shit.
Brandish needs to die fast, can't take this bitch anymore.
Pretty sure Eileen is going to turn against Zeref and be forgiven as well. That's what happen to big breasts here right?😂😂

He did strike her in the heart. All Brandish did was make the wound smaller (meaning the wound was already inflicted then she made it smaller). Its not that August missed or she made his beam smaller. Either way, she still has a hole in her heart which she would die from regardless of making the wound smaller. Not to mention the fact, that I doubt she can control the size of someones magic attack, she has only used her ability on tangible things which is the precedent for her ability (land mass, an island, a person, a tumor); again her reasoning for making the wound smaller after it has been inflicted.
Its shoddy logic at best, since she would still be inflicted with a deadly condition to her heart.

Depends on your definition of the word asspull.
If you mean a Deus ex Machina, then no, because we´ve seen Brandish utilize the same ability for this purpose. It´s convenient that she has it, but it´s not something out of nowhere. For a Shounen this writing is typical and nothing of the unexpected.
