Why can antagonists never survive more than one hit?

                        Wow, very epic looking fight and win for Laxus! :D That rune magic he learned, and his inheritance from Yuriy, awesome. Wahl showed some impressive firepower too, but he was just no match. Mashima's art is always great! :D

I'm not sure what translation you guys have been reading, but Wahl had no idea lightning didn't work on Laxus. He only realized it after the fact.

It was nice fight imo.. (wahl-machine/robotalk=cool,, then suddenly "holy crap i forgot he power up w/ lightning thingy's)"  and im like  "toinks" XD

The moment you remember that Zeref recruited these people to fight against Acnologia.(－‸ლ)

Despite people going to be calling bullshit, I thought it was the best fight since the timeskip so far and the way Laxus won the fight was classic Fairy Tail style. Loved how he inherited Yuri's lightning move :D Not complaining because Laxus is top tier in the guild and is the strongest besides Gildarts.

I never implied on being a genius writer or any of the sort.

I do enjoy some parts of Fairy Tail, but the fights are utterly lame due to the fact that the main cast has an indestructible plot armor, which well obviously everyone knows already.

Only time I really thought something was going to happen was when Acnologia showed up on Tenrou Island, this saved by Mavis who used Fairy Sphere (A spell which converts Fairy Tail member's bonds and faith into Magic Power.) to save the group from certain annihilation, this whole event was an asspull of a 9.0 magnitude earthquake.

Then we have the time when Spriggan 12 was introduced I thought we'd finally see some potential action, taking into consideration that they were supposed to be stronger than any of the Ten Wizard Saints, this again proved invalid if someone like Cana is able to knock one out cold and imprison one. It seems as if Fairy Tail itself is made up of mages stronger than the Ten Wizard Saints.

Next up in queue of events, Acnologia will probably find Natsu, Natsu will be in a pinch, he gets some sort of miracle friendship power up and decimates Acno-chan.

This is pretty much how Fairy Tail does it, asspull after asspull, the characters seemingly just recieve their powers after some unexplained timeskip or just seemingly happen to awaken some latent ability. I don't even know why I'm trying to explain the obvious, I like quite a few aspects of the series but I'm disappointed in some aspects of FT, these are the opinions of a random follower of the manga, you can prove me wrong.

This again, obviously proven false, the 730 guilds don't matter for squat, 1 supporting character can easily decimate a few Alvarez level guilds in a few panels. The whole invasion has been a joke so far. The war will be Spriggan 12 getting their asses handed to them and that will be the end of Alvarez. It's a different story what will happen when Zeref and Acnologia join the fray.
