Now this may sound crazy, but it is my opinion and I fully believe it... Ruka is one of the most unique harem females in quite a while. In short, she's been somewhat of a revelation. So yeah, this with Nagi's development is why I love this arc and think it is just as good as Athena's arc. 10/10.

Completely unexpected for me.

Guess with that we won't be seeing much of Ruka or those boring manga contests again.

The arc itself was decent though.

I gotta admit.   I didnt see that coming.  I wonder how Ruka's parents pay off the debt so quickly.  Hayate and Hina's parents are beyond redemption.

Nah. Ruka's parents are way better then Hayate's.

They at least gave her a means to pay back their debt, and introduced her to something that she loves, instead of just leaving their child to die like Hayate's parent's did.

though... i really thought that the only to buy the manga was hayate... this turn of events surprised me.

ruka is satisfied and hayate and nagi are together.

Back to status quo, I guess :(

Was there any doubt?

BTW....I also predicted this on Chapter 425:

nothing will change, Hayate will still be Nagi's Butler and I believe something will happen to make Ruka "go away".....I don't mean this in a negative way, I just mean she won't be featured in the manga as a main character anymore.

Sorry guys, I hope you enjoyed Ruka, because there's really no reason to feature her that much anymore.

Her debt is now "cleared".

She will continue being an idol, which means she will travel.

And as many of us EASILY predicted.....The STATUS QUO is untouched.

Well, Luka's happy, and she's going to follow her dream.

Still want the marriage tho.

Well, the last season of the anime already spoiled that she was going to loose and continue as an Idol. But still, it's a pity. She was one of the greatest character of the series.

I was really expecting something else xD nice chapter though.

I thought it was Hayate who came and that doctor was her mother. Gotta admit that I didn't see that coming

I hope that now story will focus on A-tan more and the chest thing related with King Midas they found in that secret room!

I want more Hayate X Athena screen time ^__^

With all of that development Nagi has had, I wouldn't say that exactly.

This was a surprisingly good conclusion to an arc that overstayed it's welcome for way too long.

For starters, this arc could have been much better if the anime had not given away the ending so blatantly so long ago. It had it's good parts but frankly it didn't have them too frequently which in turn dragged the whole thing down significantly. In fact most of those high points were mainly cause they touched on the inheritance storyline (you know...the GOOD one).

What really made me tolerate the arc for this long was the fact that Ruka was a good and loveable character, and she still has a small role to play in the overall story seeing how she is still on the list of possible people that can open the Royal Garden entrance (or so the manga has led me to believe). She might disappear for a while but she will be back guaranteed.

It feels so good to know this arc is finally over...who knows, maybe now Hata will finally start to wrap things up? (doubtful). He keeps putting the real interesting parts of the series on hold for so long it's maddening but I'm so interested in knowing what will happen I can't stop reading. Dealing with Athena's condition with the use of the Shirosakura, the inheritance, Himegami, Yozora, Hayate's brother, and the Maria arc we were promised sooooo long ago. I think it's time Hata starts delivering these.

Really... this chapter spoke for itself. I don't think I need to add anything to it.

What I will give is the sincere thanks for Hata-sensei for giving us this arc. Absolutely brilliant and completely on par with the Athena arc. And confession time. I actually shed a few tears.

EDIT: Also I know everyone predicted Hayate would buy the copy and blasted Hata for it, so all bow your heads in apology to him now for thinking it was that simple...
