Need some clarification about Yen Press

Ok true, but maybe in the next decades maybe someone will solve the language barrier at least for major languages and create an always updating language archive that could be used for accurate translation or at least language teaching, it could encompass the grammar rules and such for each language including idioms and context rules of thumb to determine the correct meaning of word or phrase. I'll be waiting science

Words like "sensei" and "xifu" have become ubiquitous enough (through movies mostly) that it's fine to use them in a translation. "Master" or "Teacher" are also acceptable alternatives, 9 times out of 10.
But then leaving a term as "sensei" as is, all the time, is a bad idea. After all, in Japanese, you'd call a Doctor "sensei" too, and in English that would just be plain wrong. Thus, using terms that are close enough and proper, is best practice.
That said, i'm not completely anti-honorifics. Fan Translations can go ahead and use them (if they wish to alienate the (admittedly rare) layman readers), seeing as their readers are guaranteed to understand enough of the "weeb terminology" to appreciate the story. But someone just getting into Manga or Light Novels? They'll start reading, and stop immediately after seeing so many weird terms (not to mention how most fan translators don't even convert their text to a grammatical structure that makes sense to English speakers)

If you can't translate the nuances of a text, in such a way that a layman native speaker will understand it, then you are a shit translator, by professional standards.
Simple as that. You can choose to keep honorifics because you want to punch out translations without thinking of proper english, but don't then go and say it's because it's the "right way to translate".

It would take me that long to get half of a volume. Technically, the time frame it takes for them to release a volume is the same time the novel takes to be published in Japan. They release it in that time frame intentionally. If the series has been going on for 10 years. expect it to take that long at the very least to catch up to where it was.
