I have the same reaction tbh... I mean we knew the fight will happen... but as you said, where's the build up? Illumi implied that Hisoka was chasing after Chrollo...   but even so is that 'eraser' so good, that Kurapika didn't notice Chrollo got his nen back? Wished we had a chapter explaining more about this... unless Togashi plans to do it a bit later... but yea very confusing stuff.

I don't think it's particularly confusing; just unexpected. I think the surprise cutaway to this event was probably the best way to do this - I don't see many ways Togashi could have incorporated the buildup of this event into the current situation with DC; it's the fallout of whatever transpires here that will have an impact on the story of DC.

Frankly, I think Hisoka is going to win. He'll be looking for a new object of entertainment afterwards, and sees DC as the way to alleviate his boredom. Of course, the spiders will be out for vengeance, and will pursue him; allowing for Kurapika to further pursue his own vengeance with all of those elements converging.

Of course, Togashi is also known for subverting expectations, so barring a shitty deus ex machina that allows them both to survive, maybe Togashi will simply retire both Chrollo and Hisoka's story by allowing a draw with their mutual deaths, or maybe chrollo even wins.

But damn do I like both characters - I haven't felt this suspenseful about a fictional deathmatch in a long time.

I get what you're saying, but we didn't get any sort of reaction from Kurapika, which is weird, because he would've sensed something was off... that's why to me this fight seems more like a 'fanservice' (it kinda is tho) and a bit rushed... I'll definitely enjoy the fight... and I do believe Hisoka will win, or the match ends up in a draw, I just don't see Hisoka dying he is somewhat more relevant to the plot than Chrollo... but who knows Togashi could kill him, or save them both.

Togashi not that type of mangaka , anyway lets wait until get more information

What the fuck ???

The fight just happens like this out of the blue with no close prior build-up, No Kurapika sensing that his judgment chain is no longer effective? no nothing, boom here's the fight in the middle of the Dark continent arc, the fuck? is Togashi rushing HxH like he did with Yu Yu Hakusho?

Also Chrollo appears to have stolen Shalnark's ability, meaning that the latter would not be able to use his Nen ability anymore, nice thing to do to your smartest Phantom troupe member.

Also what's up with the double abilities at the same time, that's bullshit.

Hisoka Morou? what a shitty name

Please tell me Hisoka is dreaming.

>(Pokémon) Sun and Moon

Hiatus confirmed

That's not bullshit. Chrollo has more "some new bothersome limitations to deal with"

Did you forget that kurapika has modified one of his own abilities during York New  Arc.

Togashi will explain it all, but later.

will someone die? the result of this deadmatch it might be "HXH Shocking moment"

Hisoka Murou(Muroj?) lol

Out of nowhere Hisoka and Kuroro fighting, i'm not even complaining because that is so insane. I did not expected to see this fight happening in my lifetime.

Since Kuroro apparently took Shalnark abilities i wonder if he borrowed more of his comrades abilities, maybe Feitan's? And IIRC Hisoka doesn't know all the Genei Ryodan member's nen abilities so he might be getting into trouble if he doesn't know what is coming to him next.

I can't wait for the battle outcome.

Hisoka, Chrollo and the Heaven's Arena are back.

Is Chrollo able to take abilities now without stealing from the other person? He just used Shalnark ability. He must of killed him or something.

Chrollo didn't kill Neon to steal her ability, but she was unable to use her ability again. If the original user dies, the stolen ability is gone. So, Shalnark is still alive.

This chapter really came out of nowhere. Maybe chrollo has stolen phantom troupe's other members' ability too? Anyway can't wait, but many question due to this sudden transition.

also weird that  Kurapika said he should know when Chrollo removed the Judgement Chain, so why wasn't he bothered by it when we last saw him?

I had to look at Chrollo's wikia to see when he got his nen back, it's been so long

Seems that he promised Hisoka a fight after getting his nen back but kept running away, and now we get to see this fight :3 I really doubt it will be to the death though, wouldn't fit

and damn son, Chrollo has no chill using that announcer as a puppet
