Hunter x Hunter Chapter 351 Discussion

Weird that no one gives a shit about spectators and referees dying during the fights. Madhouse fixed the issue during Hisoka vs Gon but looks like Togashi doesn't care.

We're (maybe) guaranteed that either Hisoka or Chrollo will die during the fight. Hisoka will probably win because of fan service, but I'm rooting for Chrollo.

Is Chrollo able to take abilities now without stealing from the other person? He just used Shalnark ability. He must of killed him or something.

Chrollo didn't kill Neon to steal her ability, but she was unable to use her ability again. If the original user dies, the stolen ability is gone. So, Shalnark is still alive.

So that means Shalnark's ability is gone... well not surprised he would accept this, I think most of the Ryodan will give away they're ability for the boss. Can you 'make' a new ability tho?

Perhaps Chrollo tweaked his ability so that he can give back Shalnark's ability by ripping the page from of the book.

I have the same reaction tbh... I mean we knew the fight will happen... but as you said, where's the build up? Illumi implied that Hisoka was chasing after Chrollo...   but even so is that 'eraser' so good, that Kurapika didn't notice Chrollo got his nen back? Wished we had a chapter explaining more about this... unless Togashi plans to do it a bit later... but yea very confusing stuff.

I don't think it's particularly confusing; just unexpected. I think the surprise cutaway to this event was probably the best way to do this - I don't see many ways Togashi could have incorporated the buildup of this event into the current situation with DC; it's the fallout of whatever transpires here that will have an impact on the story of DC.

Frankly, I think Hisoka is going to win. He'll be looking for a new object of entertainment afterwards, and sees DC as the way to alleviate his boredom. Of course, the spiders will be out for vengeance, and will pursue him; allowing for Kurapika to further pursue his own vengeance with all of those elements converging.

Of course, Togashi is also known for subverting expectations, so barring a shitty deus ex machina that allows them both to survive, maybe Togashi will simply retire both Chrollo and Hisoka's story by allowing a draw with their mutual deaths, or maybe chrollo even wins.

But damn do I like both characters - I haven't felt this suspenseful about a fictional deathmatch in a long time.

I get what you're saying, but we didn't get any sort of reaction from Kurapika, which is weird, because he would've sensed something was off... that's why to me this fight seems more like a 'fanservice' (it kinda is tho) and a bit rushed... I'll definitely enjoy the fight... and I do believe Hisoka will win, or the match ends up in a draw, I just don't see Hisoka dying he is somewhat more relevant to the plot than Chrollo... but who knows Togashi could kill him, or save them both.

Never expected this. If anyone dies I think it will be chrollo (although I think he is stronger) because the author has been setting up a gon vs hisoka fight from the first arc.

or the author could be trolling us and this is hisoka's wet dream

I bet Hisoka paid Farnsworth and his "What if?" machine (or its nen equivalent) a visit.

I actually thought Hisoka was dreaming. wtf was the buildup? so Hisoka found a nen-exorcist for Kuroro and then they agreed to fight each-other at the Heavens Arena

The buildup has been brewing in the background throughout the last few arcs; we all knew Hisoka was getting close to Chrollo. This was meant to be a surprise reveal, and I think it was more effective because of it. I personally never figured Hisoka would actually get to this point with Chrollo, but I welcome it with open arms.

Well there is evidence to support you claim but I sure hope you're wrong and this is all Hisoka's wet dreams. Chrollo finally broke the judgment chain and all we get from Kurapika is "oh he's in a bad mood" gtfo.

That's not bullshit. Chrollo has more "some new bothersome limitations to deal with"

Did you forget that kurapika has modified one of his own abilities during York New  Arc.

Togashi will explain it all, but later.

will someone die? the result of this deadmatch it might be "HXH Shocking moment"

Then why didn't he use the bookmark against the Zoldycks? was he underestimating 2 of the strongest opponents? has he just now figured out that he can use a bookmark to have his hands free?

Had to scroll all the way to everything Hunter x Hunter related discussions and stuff I have posted about(not in MAL) cause I've forgotten that there is even a HxH manga. Been such a long time

This was a surprise, i nearly forgot about Hisoka wanting to fight Chrollos. But now I don't mind if this battle will take 5-10 chapters, I expect nothing less since they are both two awesome powerhouses!

I don't think that Hisoka will die, but I can't imagine that he will win because Chrollos has so many abilities to use.

I am so hyped right now! If we are lucky the next hiatus will be after the battle.

So I really forgot when did Chrollo got his nen back... is it mentioned in some chapter & can someone tell me what chapter?

Wow I definitely wasn't expecting this battle. I remember wondering to myself when Chrollo would ever show up again, and then bam he shows up. It looks like he's become a lot more powerful and Hisoka seems to have his hands full with this match. I hope neither of them die though. Looking forward to seeing the rest of their match.

I vaguely remember Chrollo seeking out a Nen-removal specialist on Greed Island. Not sure if that was actually it though.

He did, and Hisoka helped him, you need nen to enter Greed Island so Hisoka went there and used Chrollo's name... And a member of the Ryodan said that it was a matter of time 'till Chrollo gets his nen back... but still feels weird...
