Hunter x Hunter Chapter 351 Discussion

Wow I definitely wasn't expecting this battle. I remember wondering to myself when Chrollo would ever show up again, and then bam he shows up. It looks like he's become a lot more powerful and Hisoka seems to have his hands full with this match. I hope neither of them die though. Looking forward to seeing the rest of their match.

So I really forgot when did Chrollo got his nen back... is it mentioned in some chapter & can someone tell me what chapter?

I vaguely remember Chrollo seeking out a Nen-removal specialist on Greed Island. Not sure if that was actually it though.

He did, and Hisoka helped him, you need nen to enter Greed Island so Hisoka went there and used Chrollo's name... And a member of the Ryodan said that it was a matter of time 'till Chrollo gets his nen back... but still feels weird...

I actually thought Hisoka was dreaming. wtf was the buildup? so Hisoka found a nen-exorcist for Kuroro and then they agreed to fight each-other at the Heavens Arena

The buildup has been brewing in the background throughout the last few arcs; we all knew Hisoka was getting close to Chrollo. This was meant to be a surprise reveal, and I think it was more effective because of it. I personally never figured Hisoka would actually get to this point with Chrollo, but I welcome it with open arms.

Is Chrollo able to take abilities now without stealing from the other person? He just used Shalnark ability. He must of killed him or something.

Chrollo didn't kill Neon to steal her ability, but she was unable to use her ability again. If the original user dies, the stolen ability is gone. So, Shalnark is still alive.

So that means Shalnark's ability is gone... well not surprised he would accept this, I think most of the Ryodan will give away they're ability for the boss. Can you 'make' a new ability tho?

What the hell happened the noses?!

It looks godawful :(

The first image is literally his first appearance in the manga. Togashi almost never completely adheres to his introductory designs in terms of character appearance. I mean, look at Hisoka and some of the other Ryodan's introductions - they look really goofy.

Majority of Killua inner monologue was really unnecessary, and that took up more than half the chapter.

Do you mean Kurapika?

Really this is one of the main problem I had with hxh 2011 anime.  Specifically in the chimera ant arc,  where the narrator was there to explain every tiny details to the audience, it's very annoying, I would rather he show than tell,  this is a visual medium for christ sake! That shit is only necessary in novels. Like seriously the audience is not dumb.

Except everything expository in nature last chapter was being spoken either through Kurapika or Oito. I don't necessarily disagree that the narration was overbearing last arc, but that was pretty different than what we got last chapter. I also don't think text-heavy chapters detracts from the visual nature of manga; there isn't some perfect ratio of image to text that manga should aspire to - at least in my opinion. I mostly come to HxH for the writing, and personally find the text-heavy stuff to be very gratifying. I would totally read a Togashi-written novel.

wtf that was so unexpected. Am i dreaming? Is one of the better characters really gonna die there? and at heavens arena of all places. So its not a private fight, everyone will know the fate of the battle.

the long-waited battle ... actually there is nothing better to attract HxH fans than Hisoka vs Chrollo fight ... but seemingly togashi intends to eliminate one of them and if it were hisoka i would admit that togashi is a real heartless mangaka who doesn't care to any character whatever it's popularity .
