He always borrowed abilities, that's the original purpose of the book, even when he used it against the zoldyicks

Leol/Hagya borrowed abilities. Chrollo always stole abilities, he didn't borrow them only when he needed to use them with his book, he kept them forever (until his victim dies). The only way in that "borrowing" is somewhat accurate is that the victims need to stay alive in order to use the abilities.

He explains in this chapter that by acquiring new abilities that required him to use both his hands he had to come up with new rules and restrictions to be able to use them. So the Bookmark is a new trick he came up with.

Anyway great chapter I really enjoyed it.

Hmm that could be possible...? Wonder if he dies, the abilities return to the users he 'stole' it from...

Is Chrollo able to take abilities now without stealing from the other person? He just used Shalnark ability. He must of killed him or something.
