Fairy Tail Chapter 303 Discussion

^ ok, well said. Ofc we have to consider ones magic specialty, and Crash is a technique that can beat everyone.

Also, i never said Jura being like Makarov, I guess I said it too plain so it got misinterpreted, sry for that.

Well, I don't have the wil to search for it, but I believe it was stated in the beginning that both of them were Wizard saints (I mean Jellal and Ultear), you can check it up, again my mistake if it turns out it's not like that.

I guess I meant magic strength not a irl 1on1 between them. It's clear that Jura's rockiron magic would just be split into pieces with crash, but I guess Jura also has other techniques as a WS, and we saw that rumbling fuji atk wasn't a mere physical ability. Also, Jellal was considered stronger 7 years ago then Jura.

Regarding Natsu and dragonforce, it's not so subjective if you think about Sting and Rogue dragonforce. It's not that unbeatable a technique. A WS should've been able to annihilate it.

I didn't like the way Sabetooth showed up, they seem strong as hell now. Minerva is probably the master and this should give a lot of problem to fairy tail.

I'm really looking forward to the next chapters.

Laxus and Erza are on the team though and they both oneshot Natsu all the time. Add Gajeel and a potentially serious Juvia and it still promises to be a bloody stomping.

I can't wait for the battles *___*

I am so excited and also Juvia is on the team.I believe she deserves a good battle in this arc :)

Also if Minerva is the master she is not allowed to participate in the tournament now, but since she can, that might means Gemma is alive(as I thought).

They are probably concealing his death.

Yukino's sister eh... Maybe is related to the mysterious girl that appear in previous chapters.

Not likely at all. Crying for Natsu. Going all wibbly lipped the day of the ryuuzetsu visit. So no. That's not the connection.

Usual power scaling put Makarov above Gildartz. Just see the fight against Acnologia in Tenrou, Makarov could at least hold Acno for a few secs eventhough heavily injured while Gildartz looked completely powerless. Mak problems is that Mashima usually throws in convenient health problems to him to take him out at the right time, else he wrecks. He also have others crazy feats like being able to tank Jupiter Cannon with bare hand while the same one sent Erza flying in her strongest armor suit and left her unconscious for a while.

Under Gildartz there are Laxus/Jura (gap very close), with Jellal stands in the middle due to the lack of feats for Sema and Abyss Break, probably can go even higher when he gets the major fight of the arc which is kinda certain to happen.

Gildartz also kinda lacks feats. We still don't have full explanation for his magic, even he admits himself that he can't fully control it. He also lacks some speed feats and versatility in general (kinda like a one trick pony). Dude also isn't that intelligent IIRC, so there are still possible ways to take him down with the right combination.

Certain point well-made but also certain faults:

You say we don't know about Gildarts' feats. It is true that we have only seen him fight once against Bluesting, BUT we are aware that he is the only mage to have taken on 10-year quests and the 100-years quest which stand above S-class and SS-class missions, that alone means enough. My only assumption is that if Jellal was a legal mage and not part of the council or part of a semi-dark guild he would also have achieved similar status (it has been mentioned that the dude climbed up the ladder all the way to the council from sheer mage-skill and less because of minister-capabilities). I agree though that most propable Jellal is more versatile in terms of magic-variety, though I wouldn't be so hasty to call Gildarts a one-trick pony as you did.

And finally, Makarov IS old dude XD. I think it's kinda normal that he faces a lot health problems, though I agree that Hiro takes him out during a lot of important times(but it's unavoidable since if he were to take part in each and every fray his fairy law would just wreck things up one-sidedly)

Jura should be Gildarts lvl as stated, or atleast be able to compete with him.

Kagura should be atleast Erza lvl and give Erza a hard time...as for Minerva, well. I rly can't see where she's standing as we didn't see her fight with a serious opponent yet

Actually no. Jura said he's the weakest of the 10 saints and he's under Makarov.

kiDnameDSkia did explain already, but I'll word it better as what he is trying to explain

During MPF when Jura used Mt. Fuji He scored 8000+. Makarov made the comment that he would even be a match for Gildarts.

Here's my part:

However, We both know that MPF only takes magic strength into account and not each magics  various strengths, weaknesses and special attributes.

Gildarts would wipe Jira out with less effort as Crash is vastly superior to Juras Rock Magic.

You may add on to that if you want to invalidate kiDnameDSkia statement even further.

Hint: Filler arc Gildarts battles.
