Damn, fuck Ivar. He and his people acting out solely out of self interest.

Anyways, quite an abrupt turn of events. What will Thorfinn do now?

Overall not a bad chapter at all to say the least, but I can understand people getting upset by this.

Why would it be fuck ivar? He saved thorfinn lol

He didn't because Thorfinn could defend himself easily. Also, the tribe did not hear what the old man said, and they weren't close enough to see what was happening. They will definitely misinterpret what happened because they don't know the details, only the outcome. The safest option was for Thorfinn to dodge or hold the old man's hand.

Nah, I’m with ivar on this one. The guy was in front of everyone lifting an axe.

Finally, looks like the old guy or Ivar has just lighted the spark for a war. But still I was wondering if that old guy was just planning on stopping before hitting Thorfinn to check out their intentions. Although I dont really blame Ivar, if a guy is coming at you with a weapon from point blank range, ofc anyone would counter-attack

All i can say is Ivar shouldn't have followed Throfinn to Vinland

It was gonna happen anyway, we know that the Europeans colonise the Americas lol. It wasn’t the Norse tho.

The lnu guy said only he knows how barbaric norsemen are, my guess is that he wanted to see how norsemen would respond to him harming their leader; if they tried to de-escalate the situation, he would accept them, if not, the negotiations would break. Seeing what Ivar did he is definitely not going to accept the norsemen now, if Ivar wasn't there, thorfinn was just planning to dodge and stop him which might convince the lnu guy that norsemen aren't all bad.

well we all knew that Ivar was gonna create trouble from the moment he joined Thorfinns expedition, i guess this is where Thorfinns quickly sees his dreams get crushed

it isnt entirelly Ivars fault since he isnt aware that Thorfinn has fought superhumans with his bare hands before so he didnt even need help to deal with an old man, but to be fair, it isnt the old mans fault either, the guy clearly has some weird magic powers that allows him to see the real future, it wasnt some dream or some dumb hallucination, he actually saw the goddam real future so acting on trying to avoid the destruction of his tribe is understandable

I am not saying he was 100% wrong, but we are talking here about tribal people.

Tribes are known to stand with their people even if they were the ones who instigated hostility.

Thorfinn dealt with people before bare hands ... why wouldn't he be able to deal with some old man?

For sure they’ll side with their people but I’m not gonna slate ivar, for defending thorfinn. Thorfinn hasn’t fought in years.

Even if he didn't fight in years, it doesn't change the fact that he can deal with this. You might not be totally in shape but you are still capable.

I am against what Ivar did because the whole point of the trip to Vinland is to build a peaceful country. However Ivar had the mentality of a warrior and didn't really care about the peace part and was focusing more on going to a fertile land.

Anyways, I like where the story is going because it shows how difficult is to create a land of peace
