Damn, fuck Ivar. He and his people acting out solely out of self interest.

Anyways, quite an abrupt turn of events. What will Thorfinn do now?

Overall not a bad chapter at all to say the least, but I can understand people getting upset by this.

Why would it be fuck ivar? He saved thorfinn lol

He didn't because Thorfinn could defend himself easily. Also, the tribe did not hear what the old man said, and they weren't close enough to see what was happening. They will definitely misinterpret what happened because they don't know the details, only the outcome. The safest option was for Thorfinn to dodge or hold the old man's hand.

Nah, I’m with ivar on this one. The guy was in front of everyone lifting an axe.

I am not saying he was 100% wrong, but we are talking here about tribal people.

Tribes are known to stand with their people even if they were the ones who instigated hostility.

Thorfinn dealt with people before bare hands ... why wouldn't he be able to deal with some old man?

For sure they’ll side with their people but I’m not gonna slate ivar, for defending thorfinn. Thorfinn hasn’t fought in years.

I do agree with Ivar likely wanting to defend Thorfinn, but resorting to violence with barely much hesitation still puts him in the wrong here, even if his reasoning is logical. Not saying it makes him a bad character or that this is bad writing, but it's one of those personally infuriating moments, considering how much Thorfinn was trying to avoid violence.

That’s a fair response.

Ivar doesnt know that Thorfinn can fight and he doesnt know his past. Thorfinn is just a pacifist person for Ivar.

Makes sense .. maybe I don’t remember to be honest. Don’t they know he became the leader of Jormsvikings?
