The same applies to cannon production; it's a linear progression of "make gunpowder" -> "acquired", "make cannons" -> "acquired", and so on. There's no development of a realistic industrial infrastructure, no sense of time and effort required to achieve each milestone, no character skill-building, or consideration for financial planning.
In essence, I hesitate to classify this as a true kingdom-building novel and would rather describe it as a straightforward "acquire technology" simulation.
In terms of technology, although the details are not extensively explored, there's a sense of realism that keeps the story engaging without becoming a tedious information overload. I could elaborate further, but for now, this summarizes my thoughts.
