its not a bad story per se, the problem with it is the simplicity, it feels like I am clicking trough a civilization game.

Spoiler

the MC arrives in the new world and just says, ok, make gunpowder weapons. No regard is given to where the resources come from, where the money comes from or anything else. There are so much nitty gritty details to make a musket work, that are simply disregarded in the novel. It simply works.

similar with canons

[collapse]

so what you are left with is just a senseless 'clicking trough a techtree', MC says: 'make gunpowder' -> 'gunpowder aquired', 'make canons' -> canons aquired. Etc. No build up of a real industry, no timeframe of hard work until you reach your goal, no build up of skillpools and no regards for a monetary budgeting etc.

all in all, I am reluctant to call this a kingdom building novel and more a 'tech aquired' simulator
