Firstly, I'll just get this out of the way:
"P.S: Seriously guys, grow up. This has to be one of the most overrated mangas in the DBase."
If people want to read shounens or shoujos, thats their choice, they're entitled to like something even if it isnt specifically for their age group. If you want seinens, then stick with them, if you hate shounens, why did you even read it to begin with? Since you missed the point of one piece, let me explain it to you. One piece revolves around in-groups and out-groups, including minorities, fighting for what you believe is right, and against what mainstream society, and being a man. In many situations, things are depicted that have happened in real life, but fictionalised. In real life alot of times theres just never been a hero to take away the suffering, one piece is that fantasy answered and the way Luffy gives people hope is fantastic. But apart from the moral, it is a story of pure adventuring, and reading it is the ultimate escapism. Hope it runs till I die.
+WARNING+ ONE PIECE IS A VERY ADDICTED MANGA!
Believe me I've read LOT of manga that have different styles and ideas, but I've never seen a manga with so many creativity and imaginations. It keep you captivates and excitedly waiting and wondering what's next. I would GREATLY recommend OP to those that have lot of spare time because this is a very long serie. Once you start to read, you won't want to stop.
You Have Been Warned.
One Piece, really great manga,i've read it since 2000 or so,around that time this manga start publishing in my country....
really, the character,story,plot/character development, everything is great
well, its not like naruto that every kid gonna like,i really understand this manga around 13/14 years old, this manga beyond just fighting and being the top,but also tell you about friendship, never stop dreaming about your goal, etc.
if you're 15++years old and never read one piece...then...
can't say anything...too bad 4 you
oh yeah, one piece, unlike other manga, the background detail here is so perfect...
in every few chapters, try looking for Pandaman...hehe he's drawn small, but usually appear in someplace that you've never guessed... at the Background of course
i mean to read this one in one shot i.e. from 1 to the lastest chap.
basically i dont ve much to add... this is the ONE manga u re searching for if u do like fun and fantasy...it didnt disappoint me since the 1st chap -> and unlike bleach or naruto one piece is not overrated at all.
however read it or end up regretting ur choice not to..
btw. for younger readers: there's nobody dying here xD
What can i say? One Piece is absolutely cool.

I LOVE ONE PIECE! ><"
Uwa~ Luffy is so adorable! This manga literally kicks a** !! And I LOVE the anime as well ! 😀
All hail ONE PIECE starts bowing
You know, I've been rereading this series over the past few weeks and I realized that it is already at 500+ chapters and it really doesn't seem to be that long even though 500+ is a really BIG number. I love this series. It really cracks me up! But at the same time can be uber serious. Luffy is just always so, well, Luffy, and I'm almost positive his crew considers him a nutcase with super strechy powers. But anyway, a great read and I totally recommend!
It is definitely the best shounen manga there is. It has everything you can ask for in a shounen manga and it only seems to get better.
Anyway, no matter how it turns out it will still be the best because it has been awesome, thats why I'm going to give it a 10.
Well, once again, I have little to say that hasn't already been said. This manga is probably the best shonen manga running right now in terms of popularity. It's funny occasionally and semi-serious at other times. Yet, in the end, it's a lighthearted manga with characters that bring out great moral values. It's a good manga, directed at a younger audience and yet funny enough to keep older people entertained. There aren't many cons for this manga other than possibly the length and slight repetitiveness. All-in-all, a good read.
At first I wasn't too interested in One Piece, after all it's just a bunch of silly pirates who adventure across this made-up world beating up bad guys and finding treasure.
However once I actually started reading it I became addicted. Oda's artwork is amazing. He puts so much time and detail into the background and it's objects. Not to mention the places the Straw Hat crew travels to are extraordinary and beyond my imagination. The character's art style is unique and a little childish which I entirely don't mind.
The thing I enjoy the most is the plot. Though during the beginning the plot revolved around Luffy finding his nakama, in later chapters it gets pretty intense. There's so many questions left up in the air and with every question that is answered I feel ten more pop up. Even after so many chapters One Piece doesn't get old to me or too drawn out because I feel there are still so many things left to cover!
The characters is another thing I really enjoy about this manga. Though some of the characters are rather typical of Shounen there is something magical about them. There is something so refreshing about them; the way that, even after heartbreaking hardship and life-threatening situations, they can still smile and laugh.
This manga teaches such good morals, self-sacrifice, courage, putting yourself on the line, fighting for what you believe in, having fun and laughing through hard times and living life to the fullest.
There is nothing more I could ask of Oda from this manga.
One of the biggest pros of this series is Oda's storytelling. The series is full of comedic moments, but Oda could smoothly turn it into something horrifying or dramatic and then shift into something more relaxed and happy. Also, I like how he's planned out things, and how he connects one incident to another, even if more than a hundred chapters had passed by.
Secondly the artwork is well done. Many have been put of by his distinct style, but as you will see in the recent chapters, Oda has greatly improved. One must also keep in mind that this is a playful manga series, and characters are bound to be crazy if not unique. If you're looking for good-looking guys, go read a shoujo series or other shounen series. I'm also impressed with Oda's details on backgrounds.
The series is quite long, but if you've finished a couple of arcs, you wouldn't mind the length as long as you find out what's going to happen next. That's the best thing about this manga. Oda keeps you busy wondering what will happen in the next chapter, and you can't easily jump into conclusions because Oda usually, if not always, takes things with a twist.
It's really one of the best adventure/shounen/action series out there.
Eiichiro Oda's One Piece is not only the most popular manga out there, it has the best storyline to date.
The artwork is simplistic, but it has it's own style, the casts are unique for this manga, but most of all, the plot is compelling and well-written.
Overall, a recommend to anyone out there, young or old.
