I don't know how to express all the love i have for this wonderful story but all I'm gonna say is that one piece is a journey, and I'm glad that i gave it a chance. so far it's quite a long and not easy journey but given how much of a masterpiece this story is, i can say that every second of it was worth my time.
It's very simple to explain. One Piece's overall strenght is being gigantic and running on with its worldbuilding to the end. It's a marathon to cross, a juggernaut to surpass. However, the bits and antics that will permeate the experience are already settled in the first notable arc, East Blue... And if the only thing you remember with love is Nami's backstory, it's not going to get better for you. It just won't happen.
But it is a great lesson on long-running manga: they are long-running as companions of your own adventures in life. And as such, it's never too late to get up and be up-to-date. It's all about the journey. If that road doesn't make any sense to you before hitting chapter 100, stay away, and go enjoy something you actually do. It's hard for me to accept something doesn't put the spell on you, because I want to share the same love others do. But what can you do. This is all about enjoyment, and that's what matters in the end.

I have been waiting 20+ years to start this series. When it came out I was like "there is too much filler, I got no time for this! I'll wait until it ends and someone makes a cut version of the anime". Tick tock.
What is there to say lol, I picked this manga up in 2004 and it's been my favorite series since early 2006 in Enies Lobby. Not every arc has been the greatest story ever told in fiction but the story as a whole absolutely is.
Amazing story with great characters!
Fun Ride till the end. Must read for anyone.
It's a series that will stick with you for generations and will continue as a triumph of manga.
