well i read the comments of people that didn't like the manga, well i respect your point of view considering a manga-ka can't satisfy everybody, i want to be a manga-ka myself and i consider Oda an example of what kind of manga-ka i wanna be because his creativity is beyond human reach, people say that the artwork is crappy sometimes but i think it's stylish it's his signature and well I am really happy that my mentality isn't mature enough to see one piece childish, because i feel kinda bad for the people that can't come to like this serie, with my humble opinion i believe is the best manga ever but that's just me i know people that like romance stuff (which you won't find in onepiece) above adventure mangas like this one and it's just great because everybody is different so for that everybody needs a different kind of entertainment.

    10/10

One Piece is one of the best series that I've ever read. The bottom line is that this series is (for better or worse) almost 100% slap-stick comedy. The plot is simple, but pretty original and very good. There are no stupid love triangles, no smut, and no angst. If you enjoy over-the-top antics and a captain who constantly puts his crew in danger (but that's to be expected....because they're pirates. why sneak around and play it safe when you're a pirate?), then this is the series for you.

It's very long, but I don't mind . I just love this series.

The story is beautifully written. I can never guess what they're going to do to win. Unlike other shounen mangas, they're not just fighting head on, they each do something completely unthinkable to win. Sure, some parts (which manga doesn't have a least one boring part?) may be boring but it always picks up. I love how Luffy gives hope to everyone he meets, and how each person in his crew has a reason for fighting. With that said, Luffy gives each of them hope to follow their own dreams and fulfill them together with Luffy. Their strong bonds of friendship is just amazing how they can work together in times of need. Each character is unique in their own way, and is funny. Their fights have a lot of creative, and funny moments but also have deeper, sadder side to it that made me both cry and laugh. In conclusion, I hope this manga never ends. I wouldn't mind even if it went on forever.

I think one piece is one of the best manga!
The story plot is more interesting than Naruto. U can never get boring.
I suggest u better watch the anime series first.
10 years ago, i was no fan of One Piece.
I'm around 13 years old when it's broadcasted on TV channel.
At that time, I do think One Piece is really weird! Not to mention the dub, and inconsistency from the channel that broadcasted this series.
Then few years later, I still said I don't like One Piece. Then someday my friend rent me her DVD... until Arabasta story. I finished the DVDs for three days and WOW One Piece is really amazing! I can never quit to become One Piece fan! It's captivated me.
I admit that the drawing in One Piece manga can sometimes be confusing. But if u already love One Piece then it's no big problem.
The characters are unique. Oda-sensei is supeerr creative.
    And it's really funny!!
I can imagine I still following the series few years from now... and even I already got children ^^ May be I'll pass my admiration to One Piece to them.

One Piece is a pretty inconsistent manga in terms of it's quality. For the majority of the manga it is a good read, they have some good fights, great antagonists and some of the best character development I have ever seen in a manga. But the series is riddled with problems, one of those problems is that fact that a lot of the main cast is very annoying, I can't stand Nami or Sanji and they could have created much more compelling characters than Robin and Franky. I also find Luffy to be very annoying, it's not uncommon for there to be a moron main character in a shounen manga, but when that character is the leader of a crew and he constantly recklessly places himself and the crew in danger, then it becomes irritating. Another problem with the manga is that it's transition from arc to arc is poor; after an arc is done the beginning of the next arc is usually very boring. Another problem with the story is that it gets repetitive quite frequently; Inuyasha is one of my favorite manga so I have a large tolerance for repetition but in One Piece's case it's just too much, and the concepts that are repeating aren't interesting. Although it's not a bad series I dropped this manga during the impel down arc, the series had just had become too repetitive and wacky for my taste. I may resume this series when it's done or one of the weekly shounen manga I'm reading now end, but until then I can't imagine myself reading this series again.

I give it an 8.2 out of 10

This manga is the best manga I've ever read (together with Naruto). After reading about 200 chapters I really envied Luffy for having such a strong passion towards his goal. And then I asked myself why I was living such an empty life. This was about two years ago and now I'm living my life to the fullest by trying to make my dreams come true. I thank you Oda-sensei for drawing such a wonderful manga.

I first started to seriously read this when one of my friends recommended this. I told him I saw the english anime and that it was pretty average and sort of ridiculous to read as a manga. I mean seriously why do the characters scream like this all the time. I thought about this around 6 years ago? Somewhere around there. I was still 12 back then.

I was bored one day and decided to give it a try. I read from the beginning and thought the art was pretty unique. It was a bit plain but something about was intriguing and drew me in. I read until the Alabasta(?) arc and stopped for a moment to think. This manga actually has amazing art and story.

6 years later back to the present time. I still read to the latest chapter. While this manga would probably reach to 1000 chapters, its probably because it's the author's life work and he is pouring all of his amazing ideas into this written and drawn piece of work.** This simply can be considered the king of shonen manga of this generation though many may disagree since 4-kids screwed up the english anime in the beginning. **

When my roommate told me to start reading One Piece, I quite literally laughed in his face. I'd seen the artwork before and thought, "I'm not reading something with such a weird art style." Damn that kid for being right.

This is THE best [long-running] manga series that I, and many others, have ever encountered. The characters, plotlines, and the world itself is entirely unique and engaging. I have never been so hooked on.ANY comic after reading the first chapter (well, technically it was the pilot >_>).

The character interaction is the best I have ever seen. It is deep while remaining lighthearted, and oftentimes tearfully insightful. And the toons are oh so love-able. It is very difficult to dislike such a motivated character with a clear goal whose progress you can see consistently in every chapter, let alone one who bursts out of a barrel the first time you see him (well, that was the anime).

If at times you feel 'this is dragging on too long', wait two more chapters, maximum. I have no idea how Oda manages to keep up such a tremendous pace with such an intricate plot and extraordinarily detailed artwork.

I don't have much more to say that others have not already covered, so I'll stop here. After fervently reading One Piece, I realized just how shallow I was for avoiding it, and hope, for your sake, that you open your mind and your heart to this series.

To make a "good" shonen manga, you need great character, nice art, punchline image, interesting plotline, and good humour..

But this "great" manga, adds another think, that is social issue like racism, human trafficking, transgender,.. not explicitly, but i think it was a great think to teach kid this day about social issue from manga.
    definitely 10..!

This has GOT to be one of those manga I can read over and over and not get bored with it. It's just plain awesome! I'm surprised that a story can go on for this long and it hasn't bored me yet! And mind you, even if it runs forever, I'll be more than happy to follow it!
Hooked on since I saw the anime and downloaded all 300 chapters in one day (took another two days to read). OP has a wide variety of characters and the protagonists themselves are such a quirky bunch, you can't help but love them (LUFFY!!!). It explores deeper topics like friendships (their strong sense of loyalty towards each other never fails to move me). And even the filler chapters are awesome in their own right. This manga always cracks me up.
Looking back at 500 (!!!) chapters it doesn't feel as if its SOOO long...the story flows smoothly, I didn't even come to know it had been so long! It isn't as overrated as Naruto or Bleach (both manga started out great but...you know..) and the plot hardly ever stagnates or bores one out. And when I actually sit down and think about it, Luffy still has a pretty long way to go for Pirate King.
I can't help but bow down to the great creator Oda-sensei 'cause it takes brains and imagination to run a story for so long and not have it irritate people or completely drop it. Art is amazing (the imagination behind all them buildings!! Especially the Shabondy Archipelago Bubble Theme park!) and storyline purely astounding. One Piece always leaves one salivating for more.
Also, it kinda sucks that the manga isn't available in India 🙁 so I can't actually support it actively by buying the volumes...in way thats also good for my budget.
Recommend to anyone and everyone, those who haven't read this yet, read it...NOW!!

At 50-odd volumes it's just past halfway, and still OP has such a huge following. Says something about the quality of the manga. I wonder whether Viz will actually publish all the volumes.

Hmmm... To be honest, I am getting tired of reading a very long series of a manga. I just want them to get on it and be done with the story. Although I have to admit that in the newest chapter, it is getting interesting. I also hope that the story be fast and accurate.
