Zakuro Fujiwara is the final main Mew Mew character introduced in the series. Like the others, she makes her first appearance early on, aiding in rescuing Lettuce from bullies at an endangered animal exhibit. She reappears towards the end of the second volume when Mint spots her picture in a magazine and recognizes her from the museum incident. Upon their initial meeting, Zakuro appears friendly, but after learning about the Mew Mews' identities, she dismisses them coldly. Kish chooses to target Zakuro because she operates independently from the group. The Mew Mews come to her rescue, and following the battle, Zakuro decides to make an exception and join the team. Infused with the DNA of a Gray Wolf, Zakuro sports wolf ears and a tail in her Mew Mew form and wields a whip as her weapon.
Zakuro is portrayed as a mature individual who works professionally as a model. As Mint, her biggest fan, enthusiastically describes, Zakuro has "long, glossy, raven hair," "dark, intelligent, yet sensitive eyes," and "long, strong, and slender legs." During an audition, she demonstrates kindness towards new models—the other undercover Mew Mews—and it's mentioned that she is well-traveled and can speak five languages.
In the anime adaptation, Zakuro's backstory is more fleshed out, revealing that she is estranged from her family, having left home two years prior. She is depicted as a Christian, often seen wearing a cross and attending church services. Junko Noda voices her in the anime. In the English adaptation titled Mew Mew Power, her name is changed to Renée Roberts, and references to her Christian faith are omitted. Mollie Weaver provides her voice in the English dub.
