Although she still associates with her so-called 'friends' from school, known as "The Three Beckies" in the English dub, she hasn't revealed her identity as a Mew Mew to them. Lettuce has fair skin and dark green hair styled into two long braids at the back. She has blue eyes and wears thin glasses. She avoids conflict unless it's necessary to protect her friends. An eighth-grader (second-year junior high school student by Japanese standards), Lettuce attends Okumura Daifuzoku Junior High (called Excaliber High School in the English anime version) and works at Café Mew Mew. Her favorite foods include shortcakes, grapes, and stewed dishes, while she dislikes shiitake mushrooms. Her DNA is fused with that of the finless porpoise, a dolphin relative, allowing her legs to transform into a porpoise tail when underwater if she possesses Mew Aqua. This greatly enhances her swimming abilities. As the third girl to join the Mew Mews, Lettuce initially fears using her powers but gains confidence thanks to Ichigo Momomiya and Mint Aizawa's encouragement. Once, after nearly encountering a drop of Mew Aqua, Mew Lettuce transformed her lower half into a mermaid to save Ryou Shirogane, whom she has feelings for.
