Masaya Aoyama is Ichigo's longtime secret crush who eventually becomes her boyfriend. Excelling in kendo, he stands among the top students in his club. Their first date takes place at a red data animal exhibit in episode 1.

Later on, Masaya confesses his love for Ichigo and reveals that he knows about her identity as a Mew Mew. Shortly after this revelation, he discovers that he is actually the Blue Knight and Deep Blue. Through Ichigo's efforts, she manages to save the kind and gentle side of him by defeating Deep Blue.
