Masha (マシャ Masha?) is a robot created by Ryou to detect chimera animas and mew aqua. Initially known by her model number, R2000, Ichigo gives her the name "Masha" after her crush Masaya. Masha appreciates the new name and enjoys being with Ichigo. After the aliens are defeated, Masha opts to stay with Ichigo when she moves to London with Masaya.
Besides detecting chimera animas, Masha consumes jellyfish-like parasites that emerge from victims after the Mew Mews defeat them. When the Mew Mews overcome a Chimera Anima, Masha eats the parasites that exit infected animals, plants, and humans. She can also combine with mew aqua discovered by the Mew Mews to transform into the Mew Aqua Rod, enabling the Mew Mew to execute the Ribbon Aqua Drops healing attack. Masha's speech capabilities are limited, primarily uttering "pi" and "tweet." Occasionally, she says regular words, with the most complex phrase seen in Tokyo Mew Mew a la Mode: "Masha is going with Ichigo!"
Masha is the only character from the series to appear in Mia Ikumi's short story, Tokyo Black Cat Girl, which later evolved into Tokyo Mew Mew. Although Masha shares the same name and general appearance in both series, his role in Tokyo Black Cat Girl is significantly different. Instead of being a robot, Masha is an intergalactic police officer who teams up with Princess Azumi to battle alien parasites called the Baku. He is male, has the ability to disguise himself as a cell phone mascot, speaks in complete sentences, and can combat the Baku in small numbers.
In the Tokyo Mew Mew anime adaptation, Masha is portrayed as a male character. He can speak in short sentences and is depicted assisting the Mew Mews during battles. In the original Japanese series, he is voiced by Junko Noda. In the Mew Mew Power English adaptation, his name is changed to Mini-Mew and he is voiced by Tom Wayland.
