Leonard Apollo is the coach of the NASA Aliens team. He used to be a professional NFL player, renowned for his rigorous training regimen. After being replaced by Morgan, an African-American with natural talents, Leonard becomes prejudiced, not just against African-Americans but also against Japanese people. Determined to assemble the best possible team composed solely of white players, he bans Panther from playing. However, he reverses his decision when all members of the Aliens perform a dogeza, pleading with him to allow Panther to play.
