Hate to say it, but Shinji in the manga is that much more likable. He definitely has a much better presence of mind. Though berserk Shinji was as always, a surprise to see.

The manga is nice so far, but it seems to be less subtle than the anime.

Misato's thoughts on Shinji are very clearly shown in the manga, unlike in the anime, where her feelings are up to the viewer's interpretation.

She never explicitly told Shinji to sacrifice himself for humanity or anything like that. It's not entirely clear how much anime Misato sympathized with him or how much she was manipulating him for her own purposes. Manga Misato just directly tells him to sacrifice himself for humanity.

I really liked Shinji in this chapter.  He presents more strength and greater apathy than I recall from the anime.  I really like how he decided to but his classmates into the Eva.

I liked this chapter, glad Shinji did not go sicko mode at the end

Ok he saved him instead. That's gonna hit Toji right in the feels

And thus, another angel is defeated. The english translation for the way Toji talks is weird. I have the VIZ Omnibus's and it's strange. Must be an attempt to translate a Japanese accent.

Huh, so Shinji was the one who let Suzuhara and Kensuke into the Entry Plug here. Time for them to adapt one of my favorite parts of the anime next.

Shinji here is less emo, which is nice to see
