ML returns to capital around Ch630 I think. MC decides to live upto the relatives' expectations and acts like an oblivious country bumpkin after entering their house. They try to put her down in subtle ways and it doesn't work at all because she doesn't give a damn about their opinion of her and breaks their subtlety with her complete obliviousness. Finally, ML returns and they separate from the relatives and move out to a separate house.
Commoners don't really care. Most of the nobles see it as MC having gotten a bargain because she managed to marry ML whose status is much higher while he had amnesia. There's also a lady who had been in love with ML before he went away to war and who thinks of the ML as hers. She feels like the ML has been degraded because of having a no status country bumpkin as his wife and tries different methods to humiliate MC or force her into letting the ML marry her.
The emperor doesn't care much but one of the concubines dislikes the MC and makes the emperor bestow concubines on him. ML has no way to refuse because it's the emperor's gift. The other royal princes are trying to attract ML to their faction to help in the power struggle for the throne.

So the MC sent her to live alone locked up in an isolated courtyard where she couldn't leave till the ML called for her.
