Best romance isekai story and one of the first I read, this was such a masterpiece. Everything was so good, I've read many stories, but this is the first one that comes into my mind when I think of a korean romance isekai webtoon.
This manhwa is perfect. You may hate it in the middle but in the end it's a big plot twist. You mau hate the ml at first but at the end you will love him. Trust me☺ This manhwa is like a puzzle. You must read it till the end to discover the real thing
Lilian is not Arnold's biological daughter. While he is away in Germany to teach, Helena has an affair and gets pregnant. So one by one, circumstances of life in 19th century Britain, her own vices, giving birth to Lilian, and the subsequent postpartum depression and deep trauma compound and cause her to self destruct. She goes mad and accidentally kills Arnold while trying to kill Lilian. She goes even farther over the edge she realises she just killed Arnold. It's all so sad. The way it's told is great, you really sympathize with them as both characters are drawn to be so sympathetic. I also like how initially it feels like maybe Lilian is an incest baby from how the story is framed until later it's revealed she's an affair baby. I noticed I wasn't the only one who initially thought that too.
Bluebeard is a real life fairytale and I think the author is retelling it to us to plant a mood and suggestion in our heads. I noticed some readers assumed that Elliott had killed the previous sisters he brought in just like Bluebeard killed his wives. Lilian initially thought so too.
Elliott's father was a generally good man who loved William as as son and Arnold as a close friend. But he couldn't look past the circumstances of Lilian's birth, so that was his blind spot. And after Arnold's death because of Helena and her madness over Lilian, he can't seem to want to raise a baby who he believes brought about the death of his friend and also has no 'real' connection to Arnold. He was actually prophetic saying the baby would be their downfall. I can imagine if your friend's wife cheated on him and had a baby, maybe you wouldn't want to take care of such a baby.
I need spoilers on this. I've been long curious as to what happened to her brother? Who was the woman who was locked up and what was this so-called brother's intentions to her are.
Okay, if Lillian was an affair child then i still confused why Lilian and Elliot first child which was daughter looks like William, well if you see itself she looks like William female ver., And what i was confused here, that how can their daughter looks like William?? I think its about gene, and one of them must have William's gene, i think it most possibly that Lillian was Arnold's daughter, then it will make sense about the looks of her first daughter cause Lillian has Arnold/William's gene
She leaves him and a few years pass (I haven't actually read it but I've seen the raws). The two spend some time apart and during that time, Elliot goes through it and is constantly drinking while Lillian lives on a farm with her adoptive parents and 2ML. She finally faces her demons during this time and during a rainstorm runs away from home after she has a hallucination. She sees her brother's ghost and the two embrace, basically at that moment, I assumed she let go of the past. The last few chapters hint that she was planning to go away to travel while ML is convinced to go pursue her and make amends. The two meet at a travel agency? and talk, on the carriage back, he begs for forgiveness and she forgives him.
At the end they get married and the Epilogue shows that they had four children, 3 daughters and 1 son.
Okie buh like who's the male lead, if its Eliot please say so cause like I can't read cause it gives me to much incest vibes even tho someone said their isn't cause I just started reading this.
