Ha! I fucking knew it. Ever since that suspicious death of fukube. I had that theory on the back of my mind. And with Sadakiyo not being the actual ''Friend'', I pretty much thought it wouldn't make any sense for anyone but him.



Awesome series. I don't know how the 10 or so volumes gonna be about.

This story is the type that people are so engaged throughout its serialization but when seens as a whole story is clearly lack of logic, there's an even worst deux ex machina shit later on. I got irritated the longer I read it.

You remember the class reunion where Kenji could not remember whats his face? He even took him home when they were drunk after the party.

Oh, wow. Friend is dead? How can the story possibly go on? Props to Urasawa for killing off the villain in the middle of the damn story. That's quite...different.



And, as far as his identity is concerned, I didn't even realize it was Fukube until Maruo visited his home. Nice twist, and quite the forgettable character indeed.

Can it really be him? I wonder.

I was 99% certain he's "friend" because of two flashbacks, if I remember correctly one was from SadaKiyo's POV and the other one was from Fukubei's POV, summarising:



1. SadaKiyo snuck into Kenji's secret base and said that that's where he met "Friend" reading The Prophecy Book by himself, and "Friend" invited him to read it together and keep it a secret from the others



2. Fukubei snuck into the secret base to read their Prophecy Book, while he was reading it SadaKiyo also tried to snuck in, so he invited him to read it together and keep it a secret from the others

It was so obvious it still left me with that 1% of uncertainty

It's been a while so I don't remember the exact chapter but tduring one of the flashbacks Fukubei invited someone to read the book with him

WHAAAT?! Then who the hell did he wrestle with and fell from the building during the 2k showdown when he said "you're not Sadakiyo".



I've had my suspicions that Fukubei was gonna be Friend because of the hairstyle and his random appearance but after I thought he'd supposedly died during the showdown, my suspicions went away.



And since we haven't seen Keroyon since like the reunion I thought he was gonna be "Friend".
