honestly kinda disappointed by this, i thought the reveal was cool but friend dying from one shot to the chest just felt rather underwhelming.



i feel like much more could’ve been done with his character, especially with how much they hyped it up just for him to die immediately afterwards.

Same. I only remembered him a couple of chapters ago because then it was really apparent who Friend was.

this is masterful story-telling. this whole time i was made to believe Fukubei was one of the original members, while also not directly coming out and saying he indeed was. subtle hints of a connection, throwing his name around, exposition, then boom- forgettable...



until of course, his reveal. suspicions? sure, because he came out of nowhere with the reunion. but to blend it so flawlessly into established history and the repeated flashbacks to once again throw us off the scent.
