i don't fully understand it either,but from what we have seen so far gods in bleach are like beings who the souls in soul society pray to,Mimihagi (the soul kings right hand)is a god too.
Lille is just a Quincy. What gives him the right to be of God status and how does the sword work?

There was still the zero division as a last defense,also nanao wasn't with shunsui when they fought aizen.
And if 0 division failed? Would Shunshui say " Oh man, shoulda used dat sword, oh well, we're fked now". In that war where the whole world was at stake you use everything, just like how Yamamoto used his own body as a shield back then, that's what everyone should do as long as it tilts the scales to their favour.
And also she was at the battlefield, if she is capapble of using shuch a sword she should have obtained it pre-war as a last defense measure even at the cost of her life or is there something in the "for the Gotei 13" that ensures her not to use it?

So...Ise Nanao is Shunsui Kyoraku's neice then, since her mother is his brother's wife. There's no going back on this now that it's been published. Although if in page 13 she is referring to him, then that's just fucking creepy af with this new revelation, given the incest nature of it all, on top of the age difference...I know they're souls that live from centuries to millennia, but still. We've seen Shunsui look the exact same (before the time-skip) with Nanao when she was no taller than his knee (when Lisa was still lieutenant). Unless she was referring to whomever she would come to love in the future, and Shunsui simply smiles as a father-figure. OR, it could be that Nanao's mother had her from a previous marriage, then married Shunsui's brother, making Nanao, Shunsui's step-niece...but then there's that age difference thing again that I can't seem to get over. Tite Kubo, you be screwing everything up.
Nanao looked pretty badass though, with her Zanpakuto paddle ready to spank whoop some ass. Oh god. That reminds me of religious schools that use the paddle to disciple students to this day...is that why it's a literally a giant paddle (because of the the Ise family being a Shinto one)?. Nanao can play freaking Cricket with that thing.

You know, this is what I felt like recently in Bleach all the damn time.
Only recently? I've been under the assumption that Tite Kubo has been pulling shit out of his ass from the very beginning, especially with each of Ichigo's new power-ups when he gains new abilities. I swear he just makes everything up weekly, retconning things as he goes along, like with this latest chapter. All the romantic-tension that's been built up with these two characters up till now, just got a whole lot more awkward.
I bet Kubo's conversation with his editor went something like this:
Kubo: "I've run out of ideas. You know what? Nanao's never been given a Zanpakuto yet, and this has been dragging out too long, so let's give her an almighty sword to just end it all. But I need an excuse to introduce it. Let's recycle those filler character designs, making them canon! And you know what would be hilarious? If Nanao and Shunsui were related!"
Editor: "That's nasty. But whatever you're smoking man, people will eat that up like Star Wars fans."

The absorb Reishi, which is the particles the use for their powers (like Uryu absorbed the surroundings in his fight with Mayuri). And AFAIK Reiatsu is pretty much aura. So I don't think those two go hand-in-hand.

Lille's transformation is because of yhwachs power up,and we are not sure about yhwachs origins yet,he said he is the soul kings son,but we don't know what he means by that,and we dont know what is the soul king capable to do, it is still vague,so i guess, until they explain this gods things and all this,I'll agree with you.

But aizen wasn't a god at that point,i think they didn't even know about him having a hogyoku in his body that later began slowly turning him into that butterfly god thing,The goteis thought they were going to fight a shinigamis with a bunch of hollows,so why would shunsui think using a sword that only works against gods would be helpful.
also im not sure about nanao being in the battlefield in that battle,i dont remember seeing her in that arc at all.
and last, i agree that this sword thing came out of nowhere,but i think you can still kind of understand it without considering it a plot hole.

But how does Lille relate to either of that?
forget what i had said,but still, Yhwach is soul kings son,lille drunk some of yhwachs blood like the rest of his comrads,and also had the power up from the steirnritter powers,it feels stupid but you can still explain it by saying lille became a god because he had all that yhwach parts inside of him,which means all the elites became gods after the power up,it's just my guess so i hope we will get a better explainasion later.
Because she was his VC back in TbtP, which happened centuries after he was in the Academy -- and it only makes sense that this flashback happened before he entered the Academy. So what I'm getting at is: why would Nanao be a child in TbtP when she was born when Shunsui was still a teenager?

Sure, she could resist the Reiatsu of a Base Yama by now, but current Lille just beat a senior captain, that means his current Reiatsu is greater than Base Yama's.
i totally forgot but, Quincies only absorb reiatsu,they do not emit reiatsu like shinigamis do,so nanao cannot feel lilles reiatsu anyway.
