Ikkaku's bankai is the worst kept secret in the Soul Society....

^You could consider it a metaphor that "two samurai can measure each other when they cross swords". There isn't really a "rational" explanation of this other than experience that one has for the other and the factor (in this case swordsmanship) that unites them. This is a theme incredibly evident in samurai manga and bleach is kinda based on such themes (though  not so strongly) and sometimes it uses the reiatsu system to explain why so as to not create "plotholes". You needn't consider this issue that much as an extension of the sensing capabilites that are proportionate only to a shinigami's level.

Couldn't Orihime just use her abilities to fix the Bankai to their previous state?

I hope Kubo will give a good explanation why Squad Zero did nothing in the Aizen event. Specially if they are even stronger than Yamamoto, then it would probably been enough if one member from Squad Zero would have helped.



The chapter was great until Kon appears, why would Kubo destroy a completely great chapter with such a worthless character?

Let me guess, it's either Ichigo will have a new bankai or he'll restore it with the help of the Zero Division.



Anyway, short chapter is short.

It's about FUCKING TIME,KUBO!!!!!We haven't seen Kon in the manga since before Ichigo went to save Orihime.Thank for telling us you finally remembered him.

And the Zero squad......I figure there wouldn't be any fodder soldiers or too many members,thought it would be 10 or less.

For the most part,they all have unique designs,but I wonder about their powers.



I wonder if we will find out if Isshin,Ichigo's dad,was in the Zero Squad.

Maybe its you who has to read this series again ;]. In Bleach people lose their powers more often than they lose their keys or phones. Let's see... Ichigo twice, Ishida once(twice, if you count anime fillers), Isshin once. There was always a way around it, hence it became like a tradition of sort, with no impact whatsoever*.





*Yes, it seems that it could be so much different with Byakuya - but fuck it, the same was with the case of his "death" so I won't be trolled by Kubo again. I'm betting that it is only for Kuchiki's 'unexpected' return in full glory when some of the useless/unpopular captain(Rose, Kensei, Komamura or Soi Fon) will be beaten.

Ok, the Royal Guard's appearance are very disappointing to me.  None of them look strong or amazing IMO.  The Kon part was smh.  I thought Kubo finally got rid of that annoying guy, ffs.



I didn't know Ikkakku's bankai has been weakened and Abarai's still has broken blades.  There is more to bankai than what is known then I guess.  It is probably a trade-off, more power, but harder to recover if damaged.

Nice points made , though some gaps and inconsistencies here and there. Still some from the above is bound to be true (or so I think at least). Though one correction:

Noone from SS ever witnessed Isshin, ever, at least so far. Only ones that did are:

Ryuken,Urahara, Yoruichi,Ichigo, Aizen,Gin. Noone else. Edit: Ahh, yes, Kon too.

Cool chapter, I prefer that there arent many in Squad Zero though five may be a bit extreme, I hope they act more badass than they look (excluding the woman on the right) though.

Zero division...

It looks like you don't read this manga at all if you think that Ichigo is going to stay depowered till the end.
