Why doesn't Alvarez use bows and arrows for their soldiers if they get rekt so easily? Most people are weak to blades even among FT. So a rain of arrows would be quite effective if they did not block. Erza for instance obviously could not evade tons of arrows at once if at the same time she seems to not fight at superspeed.
They don't actually have ranged spells even. Might as well not send them there in the first place, as clearly, they are not doing their job right now. No soldiers even bother with trying to launch any attacks on Gray or the people who were frozen by Invel while they remained frozen and unable to evade.
I don't get why Invel doesn't attack Gray while his Ice Lock is active. Or better, Juvia, since she is made of water and would die instantly if he froze her and shattered his own ice.
Gray being able to injure Invel with an attack that didn't even look like a 'Devil Slayer' attack(no visible darkness at all so it looks like any generic 'summon my ice blade and magically swing it with more force even though I don't enhance strength') was pretty BS imo, as the spriggan 12 are supposed to be far beyond FT but at this point, pretty much 0 of them live up to their hype. The snowstorm was alright, but i had expected some kind of actual attack to go along with the snowstorm after seeing it. Like a swirling blizzard of icicles around Invel or something along those lines to impale Gray 100 times along with decreasing his movement speed so he can't escape. Ice Lock is pretty lame as an 'ice' attack since it is not much of an ice magic. At the same time, this is a huge opening for Invel to do whatever he wants to them while they fight, as they have basically been mind controlled.
Since he's already frozen and shattered Gray's magic, logically he should be able to just freeze and shatter Juvia if he touches her, allowing an instant kill attack. Although even then Nakama power would ressurect Juvia unfortunately because Hiro.
And what happened to the other Spriggans? Are they just standing by and watching? August could easily intervene and kill Juvia or Gray with a surprise attack. Even a lame laser attack like he used to 'kill' Mirajane would be sufficient launched from very long range at Gray. Or simply a lethal thunderbolt attack from clouds above, as he can manipulate any element. Since August is supposed to be vastly superior to any individual FT mage, he would have to be at least 5x stronger than Gray, making a magic attack fast enough to speed blitz Gray's reaction time would be easy enough with that level of difference.
It was a devil slayer attack.

It wasn't concluded whatsoever, we never even got an explanation of why Gray killed Frosche in the future Rogue's timeline. The door is still completely open on the plotpoint.

Mashima won't kill her off. He already screwed up twice. First in Gajeel, second in Mira. No one is gonna believe him now. And with a title like Gray and Juvia, you expect Juvia to die? More like nakama power at the best here.
Instead of Nakama power may be love power will win.

And why did Brandish appear suddenly and takes away Natsu and co? If she thought that Gray is the only one who can stand against Invel Winter then why she didn't take Juvia too?
Lot of things just doesn't make sense.
It's probably because of Gray absorbing MM that is eating away at his heart whenever he uses DES.Nope. Invel talk about Devil Slaying as a power that eat away your heart, he is not only talking about Gray, that's why it gave an inconsistency because nothing happened to Gray father despite both of them a DSM user.
Difference is Silver was a corpse and wasn't exactly human, so the comparison isn't anyway mutual.

Is Invel trying to recruit Gray to his ranks, it seems that is what he is trying to do. We see Devil Slaying magic has its drawbacks, it for shadows that we are going to have Gray vs Natsu one of these days, and now it gives Gray an excuse for fighting, he can't help it he has gone insane, if what Invel says is true, but Gray has proven everyone wrong he can control this power so far.
Brandish taking Natsu, Lucy, and Happy, not clear is it an antagonist move, is it to protect them, either way unintentionally protects them because Invel was about to spell the beans about E.N.D., best Natsu get out of there, it is clear Brandish is a conflicted character, she doesn't know what to do anymore, maybe she just wants to talk to them, and hear their side of their story before she decides are they enemies or not.
What Invel did when he trap Gray and Juvia forcing them to kill each other, dirty move, and not original, this is similar to Merody sensory link and what she tried to do to those two and herself, which makes Invel look more like a coward, at least Merody was willing to risk her own life, Invel is just going to make them fight.
In the end, this could finally Gruvia canon. I bet that could happen, so thank you Invel.
