The problem here is this is probably one of the conclusion arcs of the series.

And this arc is the worst arc in the entire fairy tail (excluding that horrendous filler of celestial spirit's rebellion), even worst than GMG. That's simply not acceptable considering this arc will feature Zeref, Acnologia, etc

Past arcs might have followed there same formula, but at least they made sense in how the enemy was defeated. All shounen's end results are known to us, depends on how it's carried out.

For eg: Jellal, this guy was a saint, but his loss made sense. Why? He held back the entire time due to tower, and by the time he decided to go all out it was too late.

Oracion sies - midnight fight was one of the best moments for Erza.

Zero - made sense cause Natsu absorbed the powers of someone on par with zero

Well even some fights in this arc are debateable, like Erza vs. Ajeel, Laxus vs. Wahl, Wendy & Cheria vs. DiMaria. Tho the others are trash to say the least, especially Neinheart and forgot his name the one Natsu and Lucy defeated, very disappointing. Gajeel's fight was... somewhat okay, and God Serena KO-ed by Acnologia, like it or not, that's probably the most 'legit' way, since Acnologia is arguably the strongest character in the series (so far), it would've been nice to see more of God Serena, but as I said his defeat is legit. Oh and Brandish is just trash, mostly her personality, Hiro made her too OP and needed a reason to put her out of the war.

The thing is there villains go down way too easy looking weak AF.

Compare this to Laxus, zero, Jellal, midnight, cobra, Hades, ikaruga (not the fodder kagura), Ultear, Azuma etc. They went down, but they went down strong. When they went down, Hiro made clear that they were definitely stronger. The MCs, even after a powerup/figuring out a counter, didn't over power then, just made the fight more even out. That's the difference.

ALL the Spriggans go down really bad. Wahl was dominating Laxus (even before the disease kicked in, they were only on par, Laxus never dominated Wahl), Ajeel lost to an attack which phantom arc Erza and makarov casually tanked on the past, Sherria vs Dimaria would've been acceptable if she wasn't one shotted. Gajeel's fight was really bad, killed a spriggan by regular punches? WTF? At least use some named spells -_- . And how did he get/absorb curses? He isn't a devil slayer is he? Don't even get me started on Brandish, worst character of the manga period.

Read the spoilers, Gajeel is legit back. How, wasn't he disintegrated? If then why are the defeated Spriggans not back? I wouldn't mind an asspull if that means Serena would be back. Yes, his defeat was legit, but THIS GUY WAS HYPED UP FOR MORE THAN 150 CHAPTERS FFS 😭😭. Then he was wasted. He just died without doing anything.

Already read it, I'm just suspecting that things aren't as they seem with her, given what we were already told in Zero.

Yeah, I don't think Mashima will change that, but I wonder what's up with Zera? I mean is she the illusion that Mavis created? And is her magic that powerful that her wish to see Fairy actually 'created' one? I don't get it.

Even though a lot seemed to have happened, it felt like a really underwhelming chapter, 'specially with Gajeel's fast "revival'

And yeah, interested in the next chapter and its title

I've never seen fans of any manga or anime series so desperate for a character death 😂 You guys are so pathetic. Every other YouTube video reviewing FT has "MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH(?!?) in the title lol.

You people have been reading FT for how long?

Several members of the Spriggan got killed and there's zero casualties on any of the major combat forces, that's not just an issue that the Spriggan's hype being trashed, it's the fact that this war has been a complete one-sided issue where one side is winning greatly and the other is just losing badly. This just makes the war itself look stupid, how can you call it a war between continents when only one side is suffering lost and severe casualties, while the other side it just winning conveniently.

Gonna go out on a whim and say that Zera is Zeref and Mavis's daughter.

I mean, look at that last page, the resemblance is uncanny.

Read Fairy Tail Zero man.

There is a reason why people loved fairy tail in the beginning. And remember that those were the times without fanservice and all related crap. Why would anyone get into fairy tail then? You already have your answer now.

If you think that fairy tail was crap from the beginning, then i wonder how you got into the series, since it didn't have fanservice back then.

This was the time when I would get more hyped for a Chapter of Fairy Tail than for Naruto or One Piece, the plot had started going somewhere, during Tenrou Island we got introduced to Zeref who was always mentioned but never an active part of the story and he behaved unlike any of the rumors around him. The fanservice was there, but manageable, nothing I wasn´t used too from One Piece.

The turning point for the story was when he supposedly killed the Tenrou group to introduce a 7 year timeskip whose only purpose was to age Romeo.

Although I knew that Hiro wouldn´t kill the main cast, there was a slight chance that this might happen. As expected it didn´t, but what made the plottwist horrible was the pacing. From then on nothing seemed to matter anymore. Fights were inconsistend before, like Natsu becoming the strongest whenever the plot demands it, but it always had some Deus ex machina behind it that enabled the power up, with repercussions following up.

After Tenru Island every conflict became meaningless, with rare exceptions.

On top of that, the timeskip was meaningless, because any repercussions were immediately brushed off, or forcefed to the audience through Hiro dialogue boxes, telling the readers why something was bad when he had brought back the whole cast one chapter after their supposed "deaths" with some bullshit Deus ex machina, just for him to resolve any occuring conflict in the fastest manner possible.

Fights weren´t oneshots pre timeskip, the girls were sexy, but the fanservice wasn´t as blatant, better placed and used more in a joking manner.

Wendy wasn´t as prevalent and and the screentime was generally distributed more equal among the cast, with less wasted chapters on boring cats and pedophilic content.

Honestly Hiro Mashima, fuck you for your pedophile undertones, especially in your omakes they´re sick.

Lol'd at the Romeo part xD 😂

The Monad guy legit doesn't know what he's saying, the first 50 episodes and to a certain extend 120 episodes had good story telling and more importantly really good foreshadowing.

Remember when Erza was NEVER fanservice material (other than some of her armour being revealing, she herself was never involved in those craps)? yeah no one will cause of the shit she's now, I remember times when all people wanted was Erza fights and to have her in panels.

Oh boy, don't remind me of the new crap (some stone age shit), that was legit hentai level. Even high school of the dead never touched those topics.

The ending is so wtf. I'm going to try to wait until the "explanation" to judge this but right now my feelings are fairly mixed.

Irene's magic is pretty crazy. Really curious with how the Zeref and Mavis reunion will go.
