Yep, that's one of my points I tried to make when I mentioned Mard, thanks for properly presenting it :)
One of the main morals of the series is feels and love.
But Hiro respects these aspects only for Natsu, Lucy and Erza. What happened to the feelings of:
Future Rouge (lost everything he cared for, became ready to sacrifice anything to stop Acnologia).
Won´t argue with you here, that´s some thin ice there, if you like him as a villain feel free. I don´t remember him well enough.

Mard Geer (the guy legit didn't want anything to do with humans, just wanted to revive his friend/mentor and kill Zeref; went against fairy tail cause they blocked his ways), then his emotions for shitted on this arc (465) ; simultaneously making entire Tartarus arc pointless.
To be fair, Hiro pointed out several times how the demons don´t feel. How they´re empty because theý´ve been created out of ether (nothingness) and that their curses are not fueled through positive emotions like love but through malice.
He didn´t leave any room for interpretation, although it´s contradictory how most of them have been shown to display several different emotions through their facial expressions. Despair and fear just to name two.

Lissana, got her partner stolen by someone  who came to his life just 1 month back, while she alone supported and have encouragement to Natsu for years till they were 16 when every other member of the guild mocked and belittled him; and even developed mutual runabouts romantic feelings with each other. Natsu didn't even have feelings for Lucy, the entire thing appears forced AF now.
Kyouka's and Sayla's loyalty to Zeref and each other. Erza won because she's erza and her feelings were stronger? BS, kyouka's feelings were definitely stronger there.
I 100% agree that the whole handling of this plotline is horseshit, nonetheless I wanna point out that their relationship wasn´t described as romantic in the Manga, more like a childhood crush. The Anime consistently kept adding content to this plotline, that blew it out of proportion.
Neither was Natsu treated badly within the guild, that´s Anime bullshit too.
I´ve also gotta point out that the whole rumor about Lisanna being brought back, because of the director of the Anime, is just a rumor, developed by fanshippers.
Fact is, Hiro Mashima brought Lisanna back at his own request.
I´m inclined to think that he watched/read Naruto one day and thought.Yes I´ve gotta add that love trangle into my series too.

There are multiple other instances where the morals for his series are contradicted cause they don't matter to sidecharacters (Jacob saving Brandish and Marin, cobra getting cheap shotted by Erza for Kinana etc)
Naruto follows similar morals too, but the difference is kishi tries to respect other character's morals too: pain's feels, madara's feels, obito's feels (LOL) etc
I don´wanna open that can of worms so I´ll make it short.
That´s because everyone who prefers good storytelling over cute girls doing sexy things in tight revealing clothes considers Naruto the better Manga.
I've not read manga till 120 episodes. But I loved the flashbacks of Natsu and lissana in the anime, showing Natsu in a different light than a dumbass. The anime made me really like lissana and made me really sad to see her getting shitted on now.
I don't remember the manga saying that demons don't have emotions. But Mard himself stated that he has emotions and he tries his best to keep them checked. Mard,Kyoka and Sayla showed a lot a emotions (+ve emotions) as well. So did the rest of the demons.
Edit:Mard was shown to care about demons, he made hell's core to help them with their injuries and held core runs on his power, he lends tempesta his energy to heal himself etc. Sayla looked like a demon version of Mira, she definitely cared about demons. Kyoka cared at least about Sayla
