It's awesome seeing how Zeref progressed from not wanting to meet humans to keeping them with him using them as pawns in a game.

Personally,  I think that this might not be the end and story won't end in such a sad way.

Don't forget that this is Fairy Tail.  Nakama power>everything else here, so they might find a way to fix everything together.

So Zeref and Mavis were a thing...I did not ee that coming
