This pannel right here got my attention. Look at Rogue's shadow
When I noticed this too, I felt uneasy. What are Rogue's shadows. As Future Rogue previously said that his shadows are permanent and they are trying to consume him.

They altered the timeline because Future Rogue and Future Lucy came down.
I´ve explained this elsewhere but Fairy tail has 3 timelines. That happen in 7 years.
Which will be the EOS timelines.
Rogues timeline=Acnologia rules the world. Fairy tail is mostly dead, the world has no hope.
Lucy´s timeline=Rogue fucked up Lucy´s timeline by controlling 10000 Dragons who he brought from the past to beat Acnologia. Rogue rules the world in this timeline, and Fairy Tail is fucked.
Our timeline= Because time was altered twice, knowing this future Fairy Tail trained and they developed different as character. Gray killed Frosch only in the first timeline. During the second Gray was killed by timetravel Rogue and couldn´t kill Frosch.Which should actually erase future rogues existance therefore being a plothole, on the other hand Frosch may be killed by someone else, maybe even Future Rogue.
This is the Happy end timeline, where a different Future awaits them because of the decisions who altered their future through the timetravelers interventions.
You are wrong. F. Rogue dint controlled the world Lucy timeline lelz. It was destroyed by the 10000 dragons and Levy wrote the letter
Probably Multiverse Theory exist in Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail. Therefore unfortunately the other timeline still exists and their worlds are equally screwed. You see Future Lucy return to her own timeline, where she enters the afterlife.

Future rogue was the guy leading those dragons >.<.
The world was destroyed by Future Rogue, and he ruled over what was left.
He brought in the 10000 Dragons because he wanted to avoid Acnologias reign.
Hiro draw a chart where he explicity explains all 3 timeslines.
Lucy writes cries in the destroyed world where Gajeel/Natsu/Gray and like half the guild died. Levi is the one writing the letter as one of the survivors after that attack and Lucy has left. Because she´s time traveling.

Future 1 : Lucy openned the Door. 10000 dragons came and killed everyone.
Future 2: Acnologia rules the world. The door was never opened. F. Rogue learns how to control dragons, so he goes to the past to open the door.

So regarding the timeline (a lot of people said it so yeah).
Lucy's timeline: 10000 dragons bust through the Gates and kill the humans and a lot of the Fairy Tail people, Lucy travels back in time to prevent that. Levy writes the letter to Lucy.
Rogue's timeline: Rogue comes to kill Lucy, because in his timeline Lucy stops the Gate from opening, thus no dragons (or a few dragons), come through the gate. Acnologia rules the world, Gray kills Frosch etc..
Now time was already altered. Natsu already stopped Rogue from taking the mission, so Frosch (in F!Rogue's timeline gets killed when they go to Avatar, Gray maybe didn't want to blow his cover, and thus Frosch gets killed). So regarding the shadows of Rogue from this chapter, they still "stalk" him and try to take over.

The timeline for Future Rogue was erased in this chapter, similar to how Lucy´s timeline was erased, which is the explanation why she isn´t dead.
