That whole scene involving the death of future Lucy and Natsu's reaction seemed all too familiar.

Well Mashima did tweet that we would see similarities with Rave Master in the next chapters

@RosyXkid, i believe erza already had her second origin that's why when ultear gave them second origin she didn't feel anything, wait... so we can assume erza had her second origin from the beginning of the manga....lol, Mashima dude....

Mashima is trying to make her a god, i'm sorry but she is not a good character, personally i became to believe she is not a good character after the paradise tour arc, the character loses all her enjoyability when he is very very strong, just imagine morgiana for example, or lenalee, sakura, nami, rukia, from the beginning of the manga they are already the strongest, then there will be no character developement and no enjoyability.

and lucy is not a good character either, in fact lucy is type of character that mashima love to make her lose/cry, just to create a natsu/lucy time after this... that's degrading.

the only good woman character is mirajane, but again she don't have a lot of screen time, and when she do she loses, it's only to be used for the sake of other character (elfman or erza)

@Darklight0303, if you can't bring some arguments and just bashing other comment just stop man you are being retard right now, and btw i don't know who is this kingoflightining user, i have been in this FT forum 1month ago, just because i don't like the latest chapters, so if him and i have a lot of commun commenter then this simply mean that i'm not the only one who thinks like this... and that's negative for the manga.

I suggest you take your own advice since you have yet to counter any of my points I made further up the page. It is pointless to try and reason with the likes of you.

I do understand people defending Fairy Tail here, but I think you're wrong. You can say Fairy Tail is the best, and even reason with the guy who says it's bull, but in the end it's just your subjective opinion and no matter how much you try to go around it that fact won't change (same for the troll guy without arguments).

On the other hand, you can't negate the fact that Fairy Tail (if we compare it to other same-genre series) simply isn't putting up with them. Nobody here hates Fairy Tail, we all enjoy it more or less for what it is/what it can grow to/grew to, but saying it's better than OP...I'm sorry, no. Shallow character development in OP? Nop. Read Fairy Tail deeper to understand what's behind the surface described already in the comments above? Oh cmon, you can dream it and think it all you want, but in the end fights are far worse handled then for instance OP, motivation is far worse handled than OP, world exploration isn't even there... The idea is like @bizbiz said great, the vast world offers great opportunities, but the anime itself is locked and limited to a small frame of relationship between the main cast, which repeats itself over and over. Lately, FOR ME (that's what a lot of you guys forgets to say in your babling about this and that) FT became so monotonous except a few jumps here and there... It's an enjoyable funny anime with epic moments, but nothing more. It's that shallow.

Also, needs moar dragons n shit.

A series is not only about the fights also I never said FT is better than OP so kindly don't put words in my mouth. I like them both equally but I can see plenty of flaws in both. OP has had its fair share of stupid concepts and out of the blue powerups. People don't care simply cause they are cool. To which I agree but don't turn your eyes from the fact that it makes no freakin sense.

OP has had stupid concepts and out of the blue power ups? You've got to be kidding me. I can only name 2 power ups throughout the past 700 chapters that made me question how they obtained that power. Whereas FT pulls an "out of the blue power up" at the rate of 2-3 per arc, sometimes more. Putting FT anywhere near OP in terms of "QUALITY" manga is just utterly ridiculous. I don't care if you enjoy them equally.

FT is a battle shonen, therefore you are allowed to analyze its fights and rate it based upon them.

Ok, now analyzing things that Mash has done wrong with FT. It's a shonen about magic, yet his ideas for magic seem to be very limited and specialized. Which makes me wonder who the hell is teaching all of these people these very over powered and specific magics. I would say that he almost lacks creativity in this field, as he can't make unique magics out of the standard set he first introduced. He has had to pull from the field of "lost" and "ancient" and "overpowered" magic. Has a simple fire wizard even appeared in this series? Um, I guess you could include the first guy that Natsu fights and the one guy he saves. Yah, they were within the first few chapters. Every other wizard has some ridiculously strong magic that would takes decades to learn, yet they learned it in a brief span of time.

The plots, even for a show about magic, are completed ass pulled and ridiculous. Typically, after said ridiculous plot, the bad guys have to be stronger than the guild whom is already the strongest, so they just give them a more ridiculous magic. Read the point above this 10 times over. The magic in this series sucks.

Let's analyze Erza. She is an S-class wizard apart of Fairy Tale said to be on par with those of the 10 Wizard Saints. We see that Laxus, Gildarts, and Mystogan, more or less, shit on Erza in terms of power. So this means that Fairy Tale, including Makarov, have 5 total people at 10 Wizard Saint power. (Does this title mean anything?!) This makes me question why Natsu, Lucy, Gray, and Happy (The best character in FT) are sent to clean up super bad asses. Wait... WHY DOES ERZA EVEN LOSE A FIGHT?! I thought she was on par with the fucking 10 WIZARD SAINTS!!! Oh wait, no, she isn't. She's a pathetic character that has only declined in power since the start of the series. Only to gain it ALL back for a single moment to defeat a bad ass.

This series which was once enjoyable has turned into a less than quality work. The recent arcs, Oracion Seis, Edolas, Tenrou, 7 year time skip, and the Grand Magic Games have ALL SUCKED. They have all been less than quality work. Like I said earlier, I DON'T CARE IF YOU ENJOY THIS MANGA. Something can be garbage and enjoyable at the same time. Which is what this manga is.

Call me a troll if you wish, but this was quite a low quality chapter.

I mean yeah, killing Future Lucy was a little (emphasis on little) bit shocking, it poses the question.

Why the hell didn't Rouge just kill the Present Lucy after he took down Future Lucy? He would have killed two birds with one stone, and would have actually benefited the world as a result. I would love to see Mashima's explanation for her closing the gate. Probably something to do with friendship.

Also guys and gals, don't get hyped for the fight next chapter. It's going to be the same Nakama power BS that's in every single fight regarding the Fairy Tail guild.

Overall, this chapter was subpar. I just hope that Mashima remembers his one good manga, Rave Master, during Fairy Tail's lifespan...

Initially I thought maybe future lucy closed the door because of something to do with her keys (maybe they are lost after using the eclipse cannon, or drain the lifeforce of the celestial spirits or something). However it appears that, if we can take her word for it (im convinced we can), she either didn't close the door, or wasn't aware of it as rogue said. So if she didn't, the question remains who did? and if she wasn't aware she did, why? was she tricked? was she possessed? was she blackmailed into a trick? lots of questions.

this is also already a different future than the one future lucy was in because in her timeline, they were captured by the knights, but it may just be a parallel universe theory in action here. mashima has clearly demonstrated his willingness to pull off a twist with little to no foreshadowing, so it feels like we'll be in the dark for quite a while until rogue explains things more clearly.

...You know what you said just bumped up the chance of my theory that there are three timelines. One where the Eclipse went as planned and they killed Zeref. This in turn meant the Dragons never went extinct and they reasserted their existence on the day of the Eclipse. That would be Future Rogue's timeline.

Second timeline is future Lucy's where Rogue has already gone back through time to change it only in the end it ended up bringing the dragons into the present as well through the Eclipse gate.

And third is the present timeline where the first two converged.
