OP has had stupid concepts and out of the blue power ups?

FT is a battle shonen, therefore you are allowed to analyze its fights and rate it based upon them.

Ok, now analyzing things that Mash has done wrong with FT. It's a shonen about magic, yet his ideas for magic seem to be very limited and specialized. Which makes me wonder who the hell is teaching all of these people these very over powered and specific magics.

He has had to pull from the field of "lost" and "ancient" and "overpowered" magic.

Has a simple fire wizard even appeared in this series? Um, I guess you could include the first guy that Natsu fights and the one guy he saves.

Every other wizard has some ridiculously strong magic that would takes decades to learn, yet they learned it in a brief span of time.

Let's analyze Erza. She is an S-class wizard apart of Fairy Tale said to be on par with those of the 10 Wizard Saints. We see that Laxus, Gildarts, and Mystogan, more or less, shit on Erza in terms of power. So this means that Fairy Tale, including Makarov, have 5 total people at 10 Wizard Saint power. (Does this title mean anything?!)She's a pathetic character that has only declined in power since the start of the series. Only to gain it ALL back for a single moment to defeat a bad ass.

Redhawk, gear second, Zoro's 9 sword style, Robin's wings, don't even mention sanji's powers or how he nearly bled to death.

I agree and personally I prefer the fights in FT than most other series. Especially in the anime which blows the draggy OP fights out the water.

Dragons, other mages, self taught through knowledge gained and the lost/god magics we have yet to find out about but it seems to be gifted in some way.

Lost and ancient magics are common in many stories and myths. This is not exclusive to FT.

Romeo. Wait didn't you say that the magics were limited and specialized yet you want more people to have the same abilities. Most of the magics are variations on other magics we see which fits in with magic coming from the heart, it very much a personal style. If you want an example, Biska and Erza. Also many mages have more than one type of magic. (I hope that Erza teaches Lucy her magic so she no longer has the weak spot of having her keys stolen when not in use. But I don't think it would fit in with Lucy's personality to not have her keys by her side.)

Cana and Fairy Glitter being an example of a gifted magic that is extremely powerful and nullifies your point.

Being a Wizard Saint isn't based on power. They need to be extremely strong but this doesn't define them as being the 10 strongest beings in the world.

Declining in power? Gaining it all back to defeat a bad ass. Who is this bad ass? Don't say Minerva because she even said herself that she was no match for Erza in a fair fight. Erza has extreme durability and very quickly figures out weak spots in her opponents which she did.

How is Gear Second an ass pull? It's purely based upon his devil fruit. Same thing with Robin's wings. I will agree that Zoro's Asura and Sanji's Diable Jamble seemed like ass pulls.

The fights in FT are horrible though. There hasn't been anything entertaining about the fights since Tower of Heaven. (That's when I realized they would all end in nakama power 1 shots.

Lost and ancient magic is common in many stories and myths, yes. To the extend of FT's usage, no, not even close. FT is to the point that to even compete, you are required to have a lost or ancient magic. There isn't a single big name player anymore with a common style of magic. Even Erza's and Lucy's magic have proven to be extremely rare. Lost and ancient magics are like, dealt on the corner of L street by some shady dealers. "Yo dawg, want a lost magic, it will make you ridiculously strong and turn you into a super villain." "Sure dawg!"

"Being a Wizard Saint isn't based on power." Um, yes it is. That is EXACTLY what the 10 Wizard Saints are. They were defined as the 10 most powerful wizards in sanctioned "good" guilds. You must be thinking of the council of wizard elders, which had an entirely different function.

It is an asspull because he never trained for it and pulled it out into creation only when it was JUSt the thing to win the day.

He claims that he was training since his fight with Aokiji. He claimed that he wasn't able to compete with the big namers yet.

The mangastream Translation is better. Also on the topic of hater VS criticism. That person at the top of this page is a hater no matter how you cut it.

I meant their version of the chapter anyway. I don't bother looking at the mess that is mangapanda.

And concerning your second point, I disagree. His first post may have been a little sharp-tongued but still within the site's regulations. He simply wrote down his thoughts after an arguably mediocre chapter. YOU, on the other hand, insulted him first and acted like a typical fanboy. His second post then was a little rough but given your answer it's perfectly understandable that he'd react that way. If you love FT as much as you seem to do, defend it with good arguments rather than childish insults.

I have done so in  past threads and he always ignored them so I won't waste my breath with a blind biased fool like him.

So I didn't see anyone ask something that's been on my mind.  Where the heck can 10,000 dragons live sustainably and most likely unnoticed by humans?  I mean, Edolas doesn't have magic.  I guess there could be a third world that they rule over and maybe their population grew so they decided to take over another world...

The whole series I got the impression there weren't many dragons left that dissapeared at that same date.  Then again I was surprised two more dragon slayers appeared out of the blue (Sting and Rogue).  I mean, Sting and Rogue are probably as old as Wendy except she was frozen for seven years.  I found it odd that even Wendy as young as she was had learned from a dragon seven years before that.

So yeah, I guess I'm confused with the logistics of all these dragons, they're not making sense to me.

That is precisely why I believe the dragons are going to come from the Gate opening. It is impossible to hide 10.000 dragons so there are only two ways that can happen that would make sense. One is to kill Zeref and effectively prevent Acnologia from being made. This however means the Dragons never go extinct meaning they have the 10.000+ numbers to wreck and conquer the world the moment their existence is reasserted into the present timeline.

The other is the possibility that the so called Eclipse Canon turns out to be a tunnel through time which will bring the 10.000+ dragons from the past.

Thanks for your theories.  I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering this.  Very interesting.
