Vampire Knight Chapter 87 Discussion

If you are a YUUKI fan dont read this... No offense btw..

Gosh... It really hurts to know so many people hate kaname out there :( I dont blame Kaname for Zero's pain nor Kaname's pain as Zero's fault... i BLAME IT ON YUUKI KURAN/CROSS!  When she was with zero, she kept thinking of kaname. When she's with Kaname, she kept thinking of Zero... WTF is wrong with her!?

  And due to the recent chapters, i thought she was somehow respectable for being a faithful person because at first she kept on implying "oh my heart only has kaname" then all of a sudden she jumped onto zero... wow i dont know how to react to this... Hopefully next chapter will be much better..-.-

"Fondness," is actually a bit misleading because Yuuki uses "suki" in the Japanese raws on the panel where Yuuki is on her tiptoes:

An alternate scanlating team translated it this way as well and included a translator's note:






Yuuki has also used "suki," to refer to her feelings for Kaname in the first arc (she hasn't explicitly said she loved him in this arc). Considering Yuuki was thinking about their [Zeki's] relationship and her feelings, and she stood on her tiptoes and tilted her head to kiss him (whether or not they actually did is unclear) I'd say the context of her suki is also romantic here.



Hope that clears things up! I imagine it'll be addressed more clearly in the next chapter now that Kaname has made another appearance.

I don't like Yuuki very much at all, in fact I like Kaname quite a lot better than her, so I agree with that.    She is indecisive and wants both of them and does not really care about hurting both of them.    I have not liked her personality since she was turned, well even before that she was acting like that and becoming a vampire just made her personality flaws worse and brought out even more,  like hautiness which she did not have before.    I am glad about her getting some of her good points back like her spunkiness which have seemed entirely disappeared for ages.  



When I think about Kaname taking her away and making her live there I think about scenes like this.

But that is my personal interpretation and others are perfectly welcome to theirs and I am sure I see things very differently as I'm older, I've been through more of life than most of the other readers and thus have a very different perspective.

wow this chapter turned my world upside down a little. 1) it actually made me like vampire knight again, I've been mad at myself for even still buying the volumes... 2) it took 87 chapters but I finally understand yuki x zero now. I don't know how it took so long but wow... that was gut wrenching... zero... yuki... :'(

Damn, Zero x Yuuki really fit there.



Now is that Kaname?

This was probably the best chapter since ~60.  The dynamic & depth of Zero & Yuuki's feelings has definitely been the highlight of Vampire Knight.  The masquerade dance scene finally brought out long overdue sentiments about the way they've drifted apart.  A nice touch too that the time they can open their masked hearts is when they conceal their faces.
