This is my initial experience reading a crime novel, and occasionally, scientific details threw me off a bit as they were unfamiliar (prompting me to re-read for clarification). I wonder if the author possessed a specific background or perhaps had friends in the scientific field. Regardless, I commend the author for their meticulousness in describing the crime scene; the flow was smooth and easy to follow. Kudos to the translator as well – although there were occasional typos and idiomatic expressions that didn't quite translate perfectly (given the complexity of the genre), I've been following the translation from the Angel Blog. While I might refer to the original text when the translation is unclear, the overall translation is still more accessible. Thank you to whoever translated this engaging story!

Regarding the spoiler, it seems there's a confusion about the character Jiang Ping. The story mentions a 'lover tag' for a secondary relationship, not the main one. As for Jiang Ping's gender, the text is unclear, with translations alternating between she and he. However, it's important to note that there are no female characters in the SCI unit as per the original source material, possibly referring to a drama adaptation.

Regarding the BYT character, some readers interpret their actions differently. It's suggested that the author might not intend for the BYT to condone the rape of his brother by Gongsun. It's crucial to remember that interpretation can vary, and the author's intentions may not be explicitly stated.

Overall, the reviewer expresses their admiration for the story and its unique cases, despite these points of confusion. They are eagerly engaged in reading and hope for more chapters, though they request the author to pause for a while.

First and foremost, it's crucial to clarify that the "raped victim becomes lover" trope does not apply to the primary couple; it's for a supporting relationship. The main pair has an excellent and healthy dynamic. Having initially enjoyed the captivating drama adaptation, I later ventured into the novel, which surpassed my expectations and has become one of my all-time favorites. My search for a well-crafted detective story led me to this delightful discovery. What the novel offers goes beyond just entertainment; it boasts a compelling plot, well-developed characters, and intriguing antagonists. There's also a generous serving of steamy scenes. Both the main character (MC) and male lead (ML) exhibit wit and intelligence.

I am deeply appreciative of the translators' relentless efforts. Although the original source material continues, I wholeheartedly hope they continue translating for our enjoyment. I urge fellow readers to share their thoughts and support this fantastic novel by leaving reviews, ratings, and giving it the recognition it truly deserves. And don't miss out on the drama – it's an absolute treat!

This is hands down the best series I've come across, and I've read quite a lot. The characters are exceptional (powerful, which is fitting for a novel), and the interactions between the main couple are just perfect – I adore them! By the way, the ancient time tale involving a cat and mouse is also fantastic, though it's a shame that it hasn't been translated yet. The language can be challenging at times (MLT stands for Multiple Language Translation), but it's definitely worth giving it a try.

This is my preferred genre, akin to Guardian but with a pure focus on crime without any fantasy or supernatural elements. It's been adapted into a drama, which resonates with me. However, it carries a heavier psychological theme and might not be suitable for those seeking lighter fare. Although there's a comedic touch, it's rather subtle. The novel demands considerable mental engagement due to its intricate plot and technical vocabulary, which I prefer not to research but rely on translation notes. I've come across a partial translation up to Chapter 40 in my language, as far as I recall. The story differs from Mystic Wu's, with additional internal monologues or scenes that were absent in their version. Since only a few chapters are available, I'll wait for more updates. Overall, I'm not disappointed given my interest in this type of narrative and the comparison to Guardian I found online. This review might evolve in the future.

This book is quite entertaining, but there are a few drawbacks. The dynamic between the doctor and the overbearing figure doesn't work for me; I tend to overlook those parts. The book heavily relies on psychological themes, but unfortunately, its portrayal of psychology is flawed and even insensitive at times. Despite that, I still find it enjoyable as a lighthearted buddy cop romance. If you approach it with the understanding that the psychological aspects may not be accurate or well-handled, you can still have a delightful and sweet reading experience. The characters are engaging, making it a worthwhile read overall.

I am overjoyed to have discovered this novel! I recently finished Volume 2 and it was quite a stressful read. Now, I've learned there's even a Volume 5 in progress. It brings immense happiness. Thank you so much for your dedication to writing; it means the world to me ❤️. If I couldn't find the rest, my anticipation after finishing only the second part would have driven me crazy. But now, I can enjoy the entire series, and I must say, the translation is exceptional. It's clearer and more accessible than other sources I've come across. Your work is truly outstanding 👍🏻.

I've been avidly reading this novel since its first translation with only 13 chapters, progressing through two translators – the second one's work was exceptional – all the way up to around chapter 25. Although I did read the machine-translated version up until chapter 102, I haven't had the chance to watch the series yet.

This book is unbelievably fantastic! I couldn't resist searching for the machine-translated version when the second translator stopped, eager to know what happens to my favorite antagonist, asdfghjkl! Let me tell you, despite being a villain, he possesses undeniable charm. He's incredibly intelligent; spoilers incoming – he consistently outmaneuvers his pursuers.

And oh boy, those asdfghjkl (cough, cough) scenes were scorching hot! It was an exhilarating read. I'm definitely planning to re-read, focusing on the first three cases that have etched themselves in my memory, while also revisiting the translations by the different groups involved.
