    I think there's a part of this story that is about the fact that even true stories have very little connection to reality. They're always from some point of view and always ABOUT something. Even if the writer themself doesn't know what that thing is. We're always writing stories in our own heads that justify our actions and villainize other people. What Sylph does in this story is less about writing stories that are good and more about trying to reckon with your own behavior in a world where, just like IRL, you can only control your own behavior and reactions to what happens around you.
