Sudowoodo is a Pokémon with a brown, log-like body adorned with yellow spots. It has short legs without toes and thin forelegs ending in three green spheres on each finger. A forked "branch" sits atop its head, shorter in females compared to males. Despite its tree-like appearance, Sudowoodo's composition is more akin to rock than plant matter. Initially, it was mistakenly categorized as a Grass-type Pokémon.
To avoid predators, Sudowoodo mimics a tree by standing along paths. However, its disguise becomes ineffective during winter since its forelegs remain green, unlike real trees. This Pokémon detests water and is particularly vulnerable to it, so when it rains, Sudowoodo abandons its camouflage and seeks shelter promptly. Due to maintaining its pose for extended periods, its arms have grown both flexible and strong. The elderly population finds Sudowoodo especially appealing, leading to the creation of magazines and fan clubs dedicated to its arm angles and lengths. These creatures inhabit forests, occasionally sharing their habitat with Trevenant.
