Wulfric is the Gym Leader of Snowbelle City's Gym, officially known as Snowbelle Gym. He specializes in Ice-type Pokémon and awards the Iceberg Badge to trainers who defeat him.
In Pokémon X and Y, Wulfric appears as a Gym Leader. Trainers who defeat him receive the Iceberg Badge along with TM13 (Ice Beam). He is recognized not only for his strength but also for his kindness towards Pokémon, earning admiration from Pokémon in places like Pokémon Village.
Initially, Wulfric isn't at the Snowbelle Gym; instead, he is said to be in Winding Woods. In reality, he can be found at Pokémon Village, located west of the woods, where he explains the area to the player. After this encounter, he returns to his gym, ready to accept challenges.
Gym Freaks, a television show, reveals that Wulfric is a fan of the Brycen-Man Series, even crying during the latest movie. It's rumored that he keeps a photo of his favorite Pokémon inside the locket he wears around his neck.
Wulfric first appeared in "All Hail the Ice Battlefield!" where Ash battled him for his eighth Kalos Gym Badge. Despite using only two Pokémon against Ash's three, Wulfric won. He then pointed out that Ash lacked trust in his bond with Greninja, causing Ash to doubt himself.
Wulfric reappeared in "A Real Icebreaker!" where Ash, having overcome his doubts, challenged him to a rematch. This time, Ash fought more effectively, eventually leaving both sides with one Pokémon each: Ash's Greninja versus Wulfric's Abomasnow. With its perfected Ash-Greninja form, Greninja gained an advantage. However, Wulfric Mega Evolved his Abomasnow, significantly boosting its power. Despite this, Ash ultimately won the battle, earning the Iceberg Badge.
He appeared in a fantasy sequence in "A League of His Own!" when Ash discussed the Gym Leaders he had defeated in Kalos with Everett, preparing to compete in the Lumiose Conference.
In XY132, Wulfric was seen in Winding Woods, watching Lysandre's broadcast from Lumiose City while surrounded by wild Pokémon in the forest.
He appeared again in XY135 and XY136, helping to destroy the Megalith Zygarde.
