Suzuna, also known as Candice, is the Gym Leader of Snowpoint City's Gym. She specializes in Ice-type Pokémon and awards the Icicle Badge to any Trainer who manages to defeat her.

Candice first appeared in "Classroom Training!" where it was revealed that she works as a teacher at Snowpoint City's Trainers' School. She shares a close friendship with Zoey since childhood and affectionately calls her "Zo-Zo" (known in Japanese as "Nozotchi").

Ash challenged her in "Sliding Into Seventh!" where he emerged victorious, earning the Icicle Badge. Later, in "A Pyramiding Rage!", Paul faced her in an off-screen Gym battle. This encounter took place between the events of the aforementioned episode and "Pedal to the Mettle!". The outcome of this match remains unknown.
