Schierke is a young witch-in-training under the tutelage of the witch Flora. She is often accompanied by her elf companion, Evarella. Schierke played a crucial role in helping Guts's group deal with a troll infestation in the nearby village of Enoch, showcasing the immense power of magic in the world of Berserk.
Following a series of events, Schierke was forced to leave her home and her mentor Flora behind after an attack ordered by Griffith. Having lived a sheltered life, Schierke initially dislikes the human world and the Holy See’s religion. However, she finds life outside her home more tolerable thanks to her companions.
Her magical abilities and knowledge are impressive for someone her age. One of her most frequently used spells allows her to hypnotize or temporarily desensitize others. Despite her skills, her youthful enthusiasm sometimes leads to dangerous overzealousness. Her ability to sense "Od" (life force or spirit energy) enables her to discern the power, intent, and alignment of all creatures and artifacts.
Schierke often views Isidro as an incompetent monkey, leading to frequent comedic friction between them. Initially, she couldn't stand Guts, but over time, she has developed a slight infatuation with him. When Sonia offered her a place in the Band of the Hawk, Schierke thought of Guts before declining the offer. Their journey together continues to deepen their understanding of each other.
