Grookey is a small, monkey-like Pokémon featuring a green body, a brown tail, wedge-shaped brown ears, orange hands and feet, and an orange snout. Each hand has five fingers, while each foot has three toes. It possesses two large white eyes with black irises. A lime green mask pattern surrounds its eyes and extends to its forehead in a small bump above its snout.
On top of its head, Grookey has two leaf-shaped hair tufts that hold a stick. This stick was once a branch from a forest where groups of Grookey resided, and it gained special powers from being exposed to the energy within Grookey's body. Besides using it for attacks, Grookey rhythmically beats this stick against various surfaces. This action has been observed to cause grass to grow and wilted flowers and leaves to regain their color. In the anime, it can even rejuvenate weakened plant-like Pokémon such as Bellsprout. Grookey’s green fur can generate energy from sunlight, similar to how plants use their leaves for photosynthesis. Grookey is known for its boundless curiosity and enjoys high places and rhythmic activities like music or dancing.
Evolution
Grookey evolves into Thwackey, which then evolves into Rillaboom.
