Porygon is a synthetic Pokémon entirely constructed from programming code. It features a pink, polyhedral head that culminates in a blue beak and hexagonal eyes. Its body is also pink and polyhedral with a blue front, blue triangular prism feet, and a blue rectangular prism tail. In 3D games like Pokémon Stadium, Porygon can open its beak and detach its limbs and head from its torso. The Pokédex entries reveal that it has built-in copy protection to prevent electronic duplication. Created by Silph Co. in 1995, some documents suggest it was developed at the Pokémon Lab on Cinnabar Island using cutting-edge technology of that era. Many of its components have become outdated over time. It holds the distinction of being the first Pokémon created through computer programming.
In ancient Hisui, people were perplexed by Porygon and its evolutions due to their arrival via space-time distortions, stemming from far superior technology than what was available then. Given its artificial nature, Porygon doesn't need to breathe or eat but can still accept food if offered. It possesses the ability to transform into digital data, enabling travel through cyberspace. Recently, it has been aiding in cyberspace by identifying suspicious data. Some speculate that Porygon might have the potential for space travel, though this capability hasn't been demonstrated yet. Typically, it's found in computers, labs, and other buildings where people work due to its man-made origins.
Evolution
Porygon evolves into Porygon2, which further evolves into Porygon-Z.
