Primeape is a bipedal, simian Pokémon with a round body covered in light beige, shaggy fur. Typically, there's a throbbing vein on the left side of its forehead. It has triangular ears with pink insides, narrow eyes with tiny pupils, and a pink, snout-like nose. Its arms and legs are brown and adorned with metal shackles on the wrists and ankles, likely indicating a method of training with weights. Primeape's hands lack visible fingers, instead resembling mittens or boxing gloves, while its feet have two toes.
Primeape is easily angered; even a brief eye contact can enrage it. When furious, its blood circulation increases, boosting muscle strength but reducing its intelligence. This Pokémon can channel its anger into energy to attack opponents. Despite its constant rage, it has sturdy brain vessels that keep it healthy. It relentlessly chases anyone who provokes it until catching up to them. Even when awoken from sleep, it will groggily pursue whatever disturbed it. Some researchers theorize that Primeape remains angry even inside a Poké Ball. In extreme cases, it may die from rage, yet it reportedly looks peaceful in death, possibly due to its rage transcending its physical form.
In the Pokémon the Series episode "Showdown at the Po-ké Corral," Primeape shows a fondness for bananas. It inhabits mountains and competes with Ursaring for berries. In Paldea, Hawlucha is considered Primeape's natural enemy. As noted in Pokémon Sleep, it's rare to find a Primeape sleeping without rage, potentially from exhaustion.
Evolution
Primeape evolves from Mankey and further evolves into Annihilape.
