Stantler is a four-legged, deer-like Pokémon. It has a tan coat with a cream-colored underside and a few spots on its back. Its tail is large, short, and round, and each leg ends in a black hoof. Stantler has a big, brown nose and pale cream-colored antlers, each containing a black orb at the center. The design of the antlers and the black orbs gives them an eye-like appearance. By subtly altering the air currents around its antlers, Stantler can distort reality and create illusions. Gazing into these antlers creates a peculiar sensation, as if one is being drawn through them, potentially leading to severe dizziness and difficulty standing. The orbs on the antlers emit a pleasant scent that can induce confusion in people. These orbs can also be ground into a powder that aids in sleep.
Historically, Stantler's unique antlers were highly valued as art pieces, nearly driving the species to extinction due to hunting. They typically live in herds within temperate, mountainous forests; sometimes these herds are led by a Wyrdeer. As depicted in the anime, a frightened baby Stantler separated from its herd will instinctively create an illusion of a massive, stampeding herd to deter perceived threats. In ancient times, Stantler lived in harsher environments with more predators, which honed its psychic abilities and allowed it to evolve into Wyrdeer.
