Born under the star Wall, Namame is a Genbu Celestial Warrior who manifests as a small, rock-like doll reminiscent of a kodama. With the power to manipulate earth and rock, he demonstrates remarkable resourcefulness. Namame transforms into various forms such as a horse for transportation, a substitute naginata for Takiko, and even a shelter for her to wait out Hagas's arrival. Initially mute, Takiko eventually hears his voice, which speaks in simple, short sentences. It remains unclear if his voice reaches other Celestial Warriors, but he enjoys good relations with them and is often carried around by Hatsui or Hikitsu.
Namame originated from the Seimei stone (Star-Life Stone) near Iferui. When Takiko and her companions discover him, he appears as a stone giant safeguarding the oracle Anlu, who resides within his mouth. A traumatic experience with human cruelty left Namame wary of trusting others. It took Anlu an entire day sitting beside him to earn his trust. Despite the challenges of developing a concrete personality as a being of rock, Namame is highly attuned to the emotions of those around him. Like a child, he is sensitive to how others treat him and can quickly become enraged when upset. The death of his first friend, Oracle Anru, provoked such a violent reaction that Hagas had to destroy Namame's giant rock form just to calm him down. Though unable to physically cry, Namame mourns Anru's death by absorbing Takiko's tears as they fall onto his head.
