The second Seishi, Tomite is a brash yet naive and shy teenage boy. He set out to earn money for his family by hunting bounties, eventually encountering Rimudo. His first meeting with Takiko involved taking her hostage to lure out Rimudo, at her own suggestion. Though she tried to escape, he stopped her, and Tomite's mother intervened. He was tasked with protecting Takiko, which he accepted without much reluctance.
Tomite's family follows a traditional nomadic lifestyle but suffers from bandit attacks and the growing threat of invading Kutou armies. As a child, he lost his father to mountain monsters, an event that deeply affected him. With no siblings, his mother holds immense importance in his life. The resilient yet joyful lives of the Ha tribe members inspire Takiko to embrace her role as Priestess.
Tomite excels as an archer, combining speed and accuracy. His true strength lies in manipulating ice, though he hesitates to display this power publicly due to fear of judgment. He uses it only in dire situations, revealing its profound nature. His powers first manifested when he was fifteen, triggered by an attack on his tribe that injured his mother. Initially blaming Hikitsu, he later revisits the memory under Hikitsu's guidance.
At heart, Tomite is a somewhat awkward and playful teenager. He harbored a small crush on Takiko but stepped back once he realized it wasn't mutual. Initially confused and hurt by her infatuation with Rimudo, he has since come to terms with their relationship and focuses on being a strong and devoted Seishi for Takiko.
Tomite shares a history with Hikitsu, having known each other since childhood. Their bond is comfortable, though the depth of their friendship remains unclear. After reuniting, they form a brotherhood pact, reinforcing the longstanding alliance between their tribes. Hikitsu's younger sister, Aila, has a one-sided crush on Tomite, complicating interactions due to Hikitsu's protective nature.
In the future, the Suzaku Seishi encounter Tomite's ghost, still guarding the temple where the Shinzahou is kept. Both he and Hikitsu have remained to protect the last vestige of Genbu's power.
